Tweedy & Aphrodite

Tweedy & Aphrodite Maker of things πŸ§ΆπŸ’› I enjoy doing cross stitch and embroidery and I very quickly discovered that people like to have handmade gifts.

After a few people asking me to make things for them and getting paid for it, I decided to make myself more readily available to new embroidery jobs. I work full time as a receptionist but I do enjoy doing some stitching in my free time so if you're looking for something a bit different, please message me here on Facebook or email me and i'll see what I can do for you. In terms of pricing, I tend

to sell things at individual prices as no two items are really the same and some things take a bit longer to make than others so please do contact me if you have anything in mind and I can let you know how long it would take and how much it would cost.

Hello everyone πŸ‘‹ hope you're keeping well

I've been making hats lately as a way of using up some of my yarn stash and making space for some absolutely glorious new yarns

I really enjoy the versatility of a hat because theres no one set way to make one and you can just go with the flow and see what happens. No patterns have been followed here, its just repetitive stitching then finishing it off and plonking it on a head πŸ˜‚

The first on is a glorious wool yarn by Sealy MacWheely in the 'Maya Angelou' colour way and it was an absolute dream to work with 😍

The second in progress hat is a lovely denim blue colour wool from Kingscraig in Brora and i'm just obsessed with it

The third work in progress is acrylic yarns from paintbox for a change of texture and a mix of colour and is turning out beautifully for only starting it last night

Finally I had a glorious delivery of wool from Caithnessyarns yesterday and i'm absolutely delighted with them. The colours are so pretty and the wool is so beautiful and soft and will be a dream to work with

The pink is 'New Dawn Rose Pink', the darker purple is 'Northern Marsh' and the lighter purple is 'Spear Thistle Lilac' and the wool is from the Caithnessyarns farm so it really is supporting a small and local business 😊

I think Rupert's favourite is the gorgeous pink one πŸ˜‚

Hello everyone πŸ‘‹ hope you're all keeping well

I've just finished this third little fella of my trio and by golly is he a cutie 😍

I will be giving this little guy some accessories but I can't think of what to give him. Maybe a little teddy or something

As before, the pattern is by the incredibly talented Cottontail & Whiskers and is so detailed and easy to follow. Check them out!!

The yarn is from Kingcraig in Brora (my favourite shop) and is in the colour 'Stonehenge' and its a yellowy green colour. They have a website so check out their array of pure woollen yarns. So many lovely colours

Included are photos of the the trolls together like a family portrait and I just absolutely love them 😘🫢

Hello everyone πŸ‘‹ hope you're all keeping well

I just wanted to swing by with my little floofy boy to say thank you all for the love of the monsters, they're so cute to make and i'm so glad you like them too. If you want to make your own, Cottontail & Whiskers is the creater and seller of the pattern so check them and their other amazing patterns out

I am making one more for now to get them out of my system before moving on to something else and this one is going to be much smaller and cuter than the other two

I'm about three quarters finished so here's a foot for now and I'll share the finished fella when its done in a couple of days

Rupert is happy with the love too and wanted to share a big smile with you all 😘🫢

Hello everyone πŸ‘‹ hope you're all keeping well

I'm a bit addicted to making these Cottontail & Whiskers monsters πŸ˜‚

They are super easy to make due to the detailed pattern, they all have their own individual characters and i'm starting to make my third one already

The bigger one is made with Style craft DK colour twist acrylic yarn in colour Cinnamon and the little turquoise one I've shared before but have given him a wee hat and he looks so happy with it πŸ˜˜πŸ‘Œ

I have a million other things to do and make but hey, they're so cute I can't help making them πŸ˜‚

Hello everyone πŸ‘‹ hope you're all keeping well

I wanted to show you what I've recently just finished and its another fantastic pattern from Cottontail & Whiskers. I absolutely adored the pattern when I saw it and couldn't wait to make one of my own. Will he be the only one? Probably not because they're just too cute 😍

He's made using wool and has a handmade necklace on and has a magic wand too because why the heck not πŸ˜‚

Hello everyone πŸ‘‹ hope you're all keeping well

I wanted to show you all my latest makes

I got these ceramic plant pots ages ago but had no proper use for them as they were so small and then I became fixed on the idea of making little crochet plants for them

This is the first three and i'm super chuffed with them

What do you all think?

Hello πŸ‘‹ hope you're all keeping well. Proud of myself for managing 2 updates in a month πŸ˜‚

I'm just swinging by to show you all some completed makes

These have been largely some WIPs that just needed finished off

We have a highland cow, a rainbow cloud, a giant apple (because why not), Jemima Puddleduck (who I finished off yesterday), a little bit of love with my floofy bestie, a pineapple and a couple of novelty wellies

I have a few other ideas in mind whilst completing some other bits too but unsurprisingly, time is not on my side with these things haha

As always, pop me a message if you want anything created πŸ’›

Hello everyone πŸ‘‹

So unsurprisingly i'm still rubbish at updating my little page so please forgive me πŸ˜‚πŸ™

I have still be crocheting when I get a moment between full time work and an almost 10 month old border collie

I made a few pieces for some friends for Christmas but would you be surprised if I told you I didn't take a single photo πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

I have, however, just finished off these two. The first one is a big make from me as I've been a big fan of Cottontail & Whiskers for a jolly long time and I am so excited to have finally got round to making my own toadstool. I had run out of safety eyes so crocheted his eyeballs and made his a big colourful bow tie too.

They have soooooo many amazing patterns so you can try your own, you just have to make the hard choice if which one to do first πŸ˜‚

The second one is a wee bunny from a pattern by and is ridiculously cute. I will definitely be making more of them in different colours

I have a huge WIP pile and keep getting distracted by new patterns so I'll try my best update at some point this year 🫣

As always if there's anything you have in mind, just pop me a message πŸ’›
