πŸ“’ WE NEED YOUR HELP! πŸ“’

We're looking to launch a monthly charity coffee morning!

Each month we'd like to support a different charity - whether it is an environment for carers to share experiences, a comfortable setting for people living with dementia, or a supportive space for individuals navigating a cancer diagnosis - we want to provide a place to come together and spend the morning feeling surrounded by love and of course, great coffee & cake! β˜•πŸ°

We're looking for:
β˜• Local charities who would like to collaborate with us and host a coffee morning.
πŸ’™ Suggestions from the community about charities you'd like us to support.

We'd love to work with charities supporting causes such as dementia, cancer, mental health, carers, children and families, veterans, and many more. If there's a local charity making a difference in our community, we'd love to hear about them.

If you know of any charities that may benefit from this, or have any connections, please drop us a comment and let us know, and we'll take care of the rest!

Together, let's create a monthly event that supports the charities and people who need it most. ❀️

Elaine’s Gardeners' Choice for August is Rudbeckia!

A sun loving daisy type flowering perennial or annual plant that originates from North America 🌻

They are easy to grow, reliable and provide a long season of colour from July to October. Rudbeckia are great for borders and pots - make sure you give them moist but well drained soil in full sun to keep them thriving! 🌼

August is usually one of the hottest months of the year, which offers plenty of opportunity to get out in the garden and make the most of your space β˜€οΈ

βœ‚οΈ Prune perennials in late summer to encourage plants to grow into autumn.
🌱 Strim or mow areas of wildflower meadow, now that the plants have scattered their seeds.
πŸ’§ Watering is essential. Try to use grey water wherever possible, especially as water butts may be running low.
πŸ… Begin feeding containers that had controlled-release fertiliser added to the compost at planting time with tomato feed once a week.

Be honest, who else has this happened to? πŸ˜…

We've decided that plants choose their owners and once you're chosen, there's no leaving without it! (At least that's what we'll be telling our partners) 🌻
