Mikes Top 5 Corals to land in store this week but which ones tops your list - answers in the comments !
1. UFO Wellsophyllia
The fluorescent green around the ridges really lights up under blues, while the deeper red/purple areas give it loads of contrast. Very fleshy and bouncy and definitely a talking point type of coral.
2. Acanthophyllia
This one is seriously impressive in person. A contrast of purples, oranges and teal centre makes this a standout centrepiece. It has loads of texture and movement, with a big fleshy structure that makes it a standout under blues.
3. Superman Symphyllia
Contrasting Red and blue and budget friendly at £135. Would look fantastic on the sand bed or lower down in an LPS display. This won’t won’t hang about.
4. Zesty Cynarina.
A two tone or Orange and Yellows with a really nice fleshy form. The thick rounded lobes give it loads of presence and it absolutely glows under blues. There are some lovely subtle colour variations through the centre which you don’t really appreciate until you see it up close.
5. Cultured Scolymia
Highly sought. Radiant colouration. The intense orange really jumps under blues with darker purple/green markings running through it. The contrast is what makes this one stand out rather than it just being another orange coral. Tank hardened and a prized piece. £225 takes it.
