Plantation Gates path is now back open 🙌
Thank you for your patience and understanding while this route has been closed.

⚠️Path closure notice⚠️
From today, Tuesday 5th May to Friday 15th May there will be no access in or out of the park from the Plantation Gates route.

As part of the redevelopment work at the Gates and Lodges, tarmac and resin work is taking place, meaning no public access during this time.

The rest of the site is operating as usual, apologises for any inconvenience cause, we'll update when the path is back open.

Open Eye Gallery and dot art invite you to explore this exciting new outdoor exhibition celebrating nature and storytelling.

🎪 12pm & 2pm: Everywhere’s a beach (Events Field) | Wonder Arts
Presented by Wonder Arts, this high energy circus theatre show is perfect for the whole family. Expect a charmingly ridiculous performance on a giant revolving parasol, fun, fast-paced and full of surprises!

Be the first to see the brand new photography exhibition at Haigh!

🌿 Be among the first to view a stunning outdoor exhibition featuring photos and stories by 20 local people, celebrating the remarkable trees that shape Wigan's landscape and heritage.

🌿 Join a guided TreeStory Photowalk at 11am or 1pm

🌿 Take part in drop-in workshops on how to produce and upload their own TreeStory

🌿 Enjoy a walkabout performance from "The Frog" to add a touch of magic to the day!

TreeStory Wigan is a community project that invites residents of all ages and abilities to discover and celebrate the incredible trees of the borough.

The project has been made possible thanks to generous funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund

🏛️Update from Plantation Gates & Lodges

Both lodges are progressing at pace as we head towards opening this Summer!
In the North lodge, steel grate flooring, a glass balustrade and lighting track have been installed ready for the art installation which will be installed soon.

Finishes inside the lodge showcase the original brickwork complimented by new additions including repairs and repointing.

In the South lodge, bespoke built in furniture from has been fitted. Spot lighting has been installed and painting and decorating continues.

External tarmacking work continues on site.

The South Lodge will provide information for anyone visiting Haigh 🌿

⚠️Path closure notice ⚠️

Today, Monday 18th May, the woodland path running from Mowpin Lodge Gates via the Cricket Field to the upper plantations will be closed for emergency tree works.

The work is planned to take the full day and is essential to maintain the Haigh woodland.
