📍 Where does the parade start and end?
The parade will start at Leigh Miners Welfare Institute and finish with a grand finale and live performance at Spinning Gate Car Park.
⏰ What time does the parade start?
The parade will depart at 4:30pm, with the evening finishing with the parade grand finale and live music from Sonia around 6-6:30pm.
🚌 How do I get there?
Light Up Leigh is happening across the town centre, just a short walk away from Leigh Bus Station. We would kindly recommend to travel by public transport/on foot where possible.
If you are travelling by car, we would suggest parking at Leigh Sports Village (excluding Morrisons' Car Park) and walking over if possible - for more accessible parking, please use Tesco Extra Car Park or other available town centre car parks.
♿ Is the event accessible?
Light Up Leigh is based across the town centre and is an accessible event, however please do make note that the parade is outdoors and may include walking/crowded areas.
We do have a dedicated accessible viewing area in a prime spot on the parade route - join us near Home Bargains on Bradshawgate for the parade to pass by at approximately 5:30pm. This is just a short distance to the Spinning Gate Car Park where the finale takes place, where screens with captioning are available for stage performances and announcements.
At Leigh Town Hall, you can find a calm Peace & Quiet space for anyone who may need a break from the parade from 3pm-7pm. You can also find a magical sensory Colour & Music Installation at the Open Eye Photohub on Market St from 3pm-7pm.
⛈️ What happens if there's bad weather?
As this is an outdoor event during November, we'd kindly recommend to check the weather forecast and dress accordingly. Please do keep an eye on our socials for any necessary weather updates.
🍽️ Will there be food and drink?
You can find a range of food and drink available at the funfair and artisan markets on Spinning Gate Car Park from 11:30am.
🚻 Are there toilets available?
Toilet facilities will be available on Spinning Gate Car Park, as well as a Changing Places toilet that will be open at Leigh Bus Station throughout the event.
