End of the week sales report. It was another good week, though the shop was rather quiet today. I closed at three and drove up to my home in Ayrshire. Three women from USA were in today - one from Phoenix (By the time I get to....), one from Memphis and the third from North Carolina. We had a few French tourists this week, a Canadian, and a Hungarian. UK visitors came from Aberdeen to as far south as Folkestone. My Slightly Foxed quarterly review was delivered by our lovely postman Gary. I love this review and the absorbing memoirs which come with it - a real treat.

It's another beautiful sunny morning in Wigtown. The Wigtown Emporium, Cafe Rendezvous Wigtown and Well-Read Books of Wigtown will all be open today at the top of the town. We hope to see you later.

It's a lovely warm and sunny morning here in Wigtown. The market is busy, the shops are open and the coffee is brewing. Richard Hannay wouldn't recognise Galloway today. This is the first edition in paperback - 1947. £10.00. It's a little gem.

End of the week sales report. Just closed the shop after another Sunday shift. This was a good week for sales. Sold no fewer than 6 Dennis Wheatley hardbacks, and lots of other fiction. Two Folio books left the shelves this weekend, along with a few volumes of poetry and theology and philosophy. Customers came from inter alia Australia, New Zealand, California, Texas and Canada. We were delighted to sell a few books to young readers, though we always recommend a visit to Foggie Toddle. Here are a few of the boxes that need processing over the next few days - and yes, they are in the flat😄😄😄.

Two days away from the shop up home in Ayrshire, but not away from books. I finished the Georgette Heyer this morning - her murder mysteries are entertaining though necessarily of their time. I have been meaning to read The Eagle of the Ninth for years and I have embarked on the 617 pages of the three novels which comprise the chronicles.

End of the week sales report - and what a great week this one was. Best sales total this year by a distance, with hundreds of books sold, across most genres. A few beautiful art books left the shelves and so much fiction, new and secondhand. Philosophy/theology did well too. Plenty of new stock coming in to fill the gaps and there is now a separate historical mystery section in the Crime Room. Customers came from Shetland to New Zealand and so many places between. Thanks to all.
