How about a lemon and blackcurrant sponge with a blackcurrant frosting topped with grated mint chocolate, blackcurrant curd and lemon zest? Leaving ReadingLasses yesterday three women were heard to say that our cakes were expensive.... a fair point and we appreciate that handmade cakes are not the cheapest option, however, all our cakes are baked here on the premises, decorated by hand and made as a bespoke product using quality ingredients and a great deal of time and skill. You're not just paying for a slice of cake - you're paying for craftsmanship, freshness, and a little bit of edible art. Unfortunately, a bespoke cake is rarely able to compete with the economic efficiencies of the mass-produced industrial sponge. A tragic reality, but there we are!!
