making it happen in the SWS Charity Match💪

'I fished the annual SWS charity match down the Larkfield complex and even though this weekend is more about the social aspect it’s always nice to catch one or two. I was buzzing just to have one of the original commons too.

For this session I chose to use the as I was fishing over a bar instead of using a leader. I managed to thread a metre of the revamped w**d green tubing onto the braid mainline meaning no extra knots or weak points & I also left the tail rubber off the lead clip pushing the tubing straight in the clip and using a PVA Cable Tie to hold my lead in place on the cast and as expected it all worked a dream.

All nailed on my favourite multi slip d made up of 35lb with a stripped back section at the hook end small & size 6 . A couple of bits of putty up the hooklink and of course a bit of putty just before the the bend on the hook (deadly) connected to a lead clip setup

It was a blinding weekend had by all with plenty of fish coming out all over the complex and raising £2800 for 2 great causes I’ll be back next year'

Its lovely to see back in action after a break.

'Life doesn’t always go to plan, and sometimes other priorities take over. But the preparation never stops. I’d been getting everything ready for the next opportunity, and when it finally came, the timing couldn’t have been better.

A busy session followed, despite some challenging conditions.

With the water levels low and a fair amount of w**d present, the end tackle was going to be tested. It’s in situations like these that confidence in your gear really matters.'

D rigs tied with the offer an alternative to traditional Fluorocarbon set ups giving you a tad more flexibility when it comes to laying over substrate that's not flat. Keeping the coating intact right through to the hook means you maintain the stiffness too. As you can see from Lee's results it can be deadly!

'This is the biggest of a 4 fish session down at the Lancashire lake I’ve started fishing,
It’s been fishing tough the last month but knowing they have to feed at some point and with the drop in temperatures, I fully invested, putting a big amount of boilie and pellet in, fishing a trimmed snowman on one of our D-rigs over the top of the bait kept the bites coming.'

.wrighty.wright gets through to some of the better fish in Wraysbury 2💪

'Finally some cooler weather and I had an idea where the fish might be, after a quick reccy around a few swims and I spotted a few subtle signs. I dropped into the swim and decided to spread my bets this time and fish three different spots that I knew where clear after quick lead about.

I went in quite heavy with the bait, around 20 spombs per rod as the cooler nights and that end of August period, it just felt prime for a feed. It was now 5pm and I had until 11am the next morning before I had to be home, I prepped some back up rigs, ready to get the rods back out if the bites came and man was, I glad I did. The first bits came at 7pm and a cracking dark round mirror graced the net from the longer spot fished on a bar. The sun was just dropping when it was away again, this time a 31lbs mirror. Topping up the spot with 3-5 spombs after each bite it was 2am before a little common slipped up. I’d set the alarm for 5am , just on first light and the right-hand rod was away and a cracking 37lbs mirror was in the net.

I was just finishing off the pics, when the left hand rod screamed off and an upper twenty slid over the net cord. It was now almost 7am and the kettle hadn't even been boiled and I was gasping, the rods were all back out and bait topped up when the left hand rod pulled up a few hours later and another upper 20 mirror kissed the net. Pictures done and it was time to pack up, just as the bivvy went down and the barrow was starting to lad the long spot was away again and a lovely clean low 20 common was in the net to end a manic session.

35lbs , Size 4 Hooks fished Slip D and the new braided mainline working tirelessly through the vast w**d beds to land all the prizes. The new braid is something I’ve been testing for over a year now and I can honestly say its not let me down once, there are some harsh floor to ceiling w**d beds on Wraysbury and they’ve been no match for the supremacy. '

Tranquillity Lakes Black Mirror❗️

had a tough week over at Tranquillity Lakes in France, It certainly had him putting the effort in, but in the end it paid off royally with a new PB in the shape of the incredible 'Black Mirror's at 56lb 9oz!!

'This carp literally blew me away and even though this was the only fish of the week for me I was more than content! The downfall of it's capture was 6-7 inches of in gravel brown, a size 2 hook fished multi rig style but using a large Tungsten Kicker to flip that hook over & to pin the rig down 2 with a tungsten anti tangle sleeve.'

back in the mix👊

'I headed down to my syndicate for a quick overnighter last week but the main lake that I’ve been spending some time on recently was still full of algae and struggling with a big oxygen crash which unfortunately led to losing one of the big commons which I was gutted about.

Not wanting to put any more stress on a lake that was clearly struggling I decided to walk around the other lake on the complex. After a few laps I saw a good few shows in the central part of the lake and quickly loaded up the barrow. I flicked out my favourite multi combi rig using the 25lb and a razor sharp size 4 and a tungsten kicker.

I had several bites over the session with the best being a 24lb common with a pretty cool black eye'

How about that for a selection of carp😍

checks in with a mega set of stills from a recent week at The Aquarium in France.

'Just returned from my week at the aquarium, what a place, it’s got it all, w**d silt gravel bars margins bays, such a cool place to fish. dropped a few fish towards the start of the week but after a few strategy changes and tweaks including applying beaked point hooks we managed to land 8 fish to 42LB, all fish nailed with fixed leads on slip d rigs over boilie and house pellet, the hook holds proved I ‘could've played it for a week’ mega times.'
