Morning everyone ♥️

🌲 Whispering Woods Inspiration 💙

This morning’s inspiration came from some gorgeous new Designer Series Paper called Whispering Woods, which will be available in September.

I absolutely love the beautiful colours and the soft watercolour effect, so I decided to use the paper as inspiration to create my own winter woodland scene.

For this card front I used the Woodland Wishes (available now) and Welcome Noel stamp (coming September)sets.

Creating the animals 🦌

I made my own animal stencils by stamping the images onto card and carefully cutting the animals out, leaving the negative space behind to use as a stencil.

Creating the landscape 🗻

The hills were just as simple. I cut a wavy line from a piece of card and used this as a stencil to build up the soft, snowy landscape.

Colours Used:

Garden Green
Pretty Peacock
Shaded Spruce
Night of Navy
Azure Afternoon
Blueberry Bushel
Pecan Pie

The great thing about this technique is that you can use any combination of colours you have and create a completely different woodland scene.

Sometimes a piece of Designer Series Paper is all the inspiration you need to start creating. 💙

Secret Sea Two Tone for the Hot Foil Letters
Luxe Alphabet and Numbers Hot Foil dies. (Out now)
Inks and blends to match the DSP.
