Winchcombe Pottery Traditional Wood Fired Stoneware Pottery We are at the intersection of Broadway Road Winchcombe and Becketts Lane Greet. Castleways busses also run to Greet.

If driving, the Broadway Road is the best but there is a footpath from Winchcombe along the Evesham Road, past Winchcombe GWR station and right, opposite The Harvest Home Pub down Becketts Lane to the very bottom. Winchcombe Pottery is situated in one of the most attractive parts of the England, one mile out of the ancient town of Winchcombe on the Broadway Road. Nine miles from the famous Spa town of Cheltenham and about the same distance from Tewkesbury, Evesham, Stow on the Wold and Northleach and only six miles from Broadway it really is in the heart of the Cotswolds. Established in 1926 on the site of a pottery dating back to the early 1800's makes it one of the longest running craft potteries in the country making some of the finest and most practical domestic pottery in the world.

We've spent the day having a last whizz around getting the site ready to welcome you all to our open day tomorrow. The tea and cakes are ready, the pots are fired and the kiln is waiting! We can't wait to welcome you all back to this very special 100th anniversary weekend. The team are pictured here with Will Hall who has been a stalwart maker at the pottery for 50 odd years! Thanks Will for all the support and taking this lovely photo.

Just once again as a reminder there will be minimal parking on site so please if you can walk from top of becketts lane or the industrial estate. There is also parking available in Winchcombe with a 20min walk on the beautiful Osbourne Way.

The kiln opening will take place at 2 o'clock but doors will be open at 12 for tours, demos and chats with the potters. Tea, coffee and cake will also be available with options suitable for vegans and gluten freers! After the kiln opening there will also be the unveiling of some very special centenary pots that will be for sale.

Starting our centenary weekend with a little celebration of the gorgeous window display some of you may have seen in Cheltenham at the Gloucestershire Guild shop in Montpellier ❤️
We really enjoyed putting this little feast together, showing off some of our favourite WP classics. The setting uses the kiln props and ware boards that we use in daily production to show the pots in their most natural environment, even amongst the airy and light settings of the guild window.

The pottery and the guild have a very long standing relationship. Winchcombe Pottery was one of the founding members when the guild began in 1933 and, until very recently was still a member. Now, the two institutions have come together once more to honour those connections for the month of September as we celebrate 100 years.

Join us for our centenary celebration 🎉

On the 12th September we will be hosting our centenary open day at Winchcombe Pottery. There will be chats, a kiln opening, demonstrations and tours, as well as refreshments.
We are aligning with Isbourne Arts , who are running a Cranks vegetarian restaurant pop up event, Winchcombe Walkers are Welcome who are leading a guided walk down to the pottery via the river Isbourne footpath, and The Edgeler Collection who are screening some film and archive footage of the pottery in the evening. Quite a day out!

We ask all who can to park either in the Back Lane carpark in Winchcombe (enjoy the beautiful walk down) or at the top of Beckett's Lane where the road widens up as we have extremely limited parking on site and we would like to reserve this for those who need it.

We had so many of these red deadnettle flowers come up earlier in the year that we had to make some extra small bud vases to show them off.

A little blushing teapot.
This willow ash glazed teapot came from our last firing of the big kiln. As we finish decorating, bisquing and glazing this week, we prepare to start packing for our firing later this month. It's a good time to look back at the successes and failures of the last kiln and think about how to incorporate what we learnt into the process.
