HMS Warspite Teak – Limited Release Ballpoint Pens

A small batch of genuine HMS Warspite teak has just arrived in the workshop — timber taken from one of the most decorated battleships in Royal Navy history. From the decks of this legendary WWII vessel, I’ll be crafting a short run of handcrafted ballpoint pens, each one shaped, finished, and polished by hand here in Cheshire.

Every pen comes with full provenance, connecting you directly to the ship’s remarkable story and the men who served aboard her.

This is a very limited supply. Once the teak is gone, it’s gone.

The oak used to create this pen was an original part of HMS Victory and was removed during her restoration.

Possibly the most famous ship ever built, Nelson's flagship is the only surviving warship to have fought in the American War of Independence, the French Revolutionary Wars, and the Napoleonic War.

She dates back to 1759 when her keel was laid and after an unusually long active service, in 1922 she was 'saved for the nation' and put into dry-dock, where she remains to this day.

She is the oldest commissioned ship in the world and attracts millions of visitors.

This pen has been handcrafted using Teak Decking that was salvaged from USS North Carolina during her 1994 – 1997 restoration project.

USS North Carolina was commissioned on the 9th of April 1941 and was put to active service immediately following her shakedown. She was involved in many successful campaigns against the Japanese during World War II and was then decommissioned on the 27th June 1947. She was kept on reserve until finally being stricken on the 1st of June 1960 and slated to be scrapped. Following a very successful fund raising campaign, on the 6th of September 1961 she was transferred to the state and became a museum ship, where she remains today.

This unique handcrafted pen has been made from a Second World War Spitfire Propeller.

Spitfire propellers were made from many thin layers of compressed laminated birch wood that were impregnated with resins. This construction method was called Jablo and proved to be very strong.

The legendary Spitfire, thought by many as the most iconic and famous fighter aircraft ever built, gained its unequalled status during the Battle of Britain. Much loved by its pilots, the Spitfire saw service during the whole of the Second World War and still to this day stands as a proud symbol of the RAF.
