🐠🦎🦜 MATERNITY COVER – STAFF WANTED AT PONDWORLD 🦜🦎🐠

We’re looking for a friendly, confident and reliable person to join our team at Pondworld, our aquatic, reptile and bird shop, to provide maternity cover.

This is a hands-on role, so you must be flexible, confident and not afraid of reptiles or birds.

The role will include:
🐠 Serving and helping customers
🦎 Cleaning out and caring for animals
🦜 General cleaning and tidying of the shop
🐍 Handling reptiles and birds when required
🧹 Helping with the general day-to-day running of the shop

⚠️ A little Pondworld reality check… 😂

This isn’t your average retail job!

🐀 There will be frozen rodents
🕷️ There will be spiders
🐍 There will definitely be snakes
🦜 You’ll have the chance to get involved with our hand-reared birds… who have a special talent for covering you (and themselves!) in hand-rearing baby formula 😂
💩 And there may well be days when you go home wearing a little bit of bird p**p too!

Basically, if you’re looking for a job where you stay clean and pristine all day… this probably isn’t it! 😂

If all of that made you think “ABSOLUTELY NOT!” then this probably isn’t the job for you.

But if you read it and thought “That actually sounds like fun!” then you could be exactly the sort of person we’re looking for! 🐠🦎🦜

We’re looking for someone who is hardworking, reliable, friendly and willing to get stuck in. You’ll need to be comfortable working around a variety of animals and confident speaking with customers.

⏰ Hours will initially be minimal while training and during a trial period, so flexibility is important. There is potential for part-time hours to become available later on for the right person.

Experience with aquatics, reptiles, birds or retail would be an advantage, but a good attitude, confidence and willingness to learn are just as important.
