Good morning everyone

So today is the last day for us, all stock (excluding newspapers and magazines) is now half marked price or less.

Today is a very sad day for us, but will also be the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Aaron and a happy retirement for Pat.

We would like to thank you all for all your loyal support and custom over the years, and a very special heartfelt thanks for all the lovely support, messages and cards over the last couple of weeks.
It truly has meant so much. 🥰

Hello everyone.

So this post is the hardest we have ever had to write and it comes with an extremely heavy heart indeed. We regret to inform you that the shop will be closing. Over the past two years now we have been running at a loss and have had to put money into the business to keep it afloat and open. We can obviously not carry on doing that long-term so we have made this extremely hard decision.

We are truly devastated that it’s come to this because we hate to let our regular customers down, but sadly the reality is that we are not taking enough money to keep going. We have done regular social media posts over the past two years in the hope things would pick up but sadly this has made no difference. We can no longer survive on the trade that the small amount of wonderful regular people that support and shop with us generates. It has been a struggle since the Covid pandemic and now with the cost of living crisis, peoples shopping habits have changed and sadly this means it’s the end of the journey for us and time for a well earned retirement for Pat and an exciting new challenge for Aaron.

We opened the shop in 2011 and have had a wonderful 14 years serving you all, this has not been a decision made lightly. We understand how important a local shop is to the village which is why we have tried to keep it going. That makes the decision to close so much harder. Our last trading day will be Saturday 22nd of February 2025. We shall be here until then clearing stock. We shall also continue to have our usual fresh produce and newspapers up until we close, so please do still call in and see us. It would be nice to see everyone regularly up until we close. Finally, we want to say a very heartfelt and massive thank you to all our loyal customers and our suppliers for supplying us over the years. Many of you have now become wonderful friends. Thank you for taking the time to read this, we are truly sorry it’s come to this.
