DT Bait Rob Chandler with his last report from France …

“After ticking off the 40lber, it was clear the fish had moved on and all went quiet for the rest of the day until late afternoon, when this tank of a common picked up the DT Bait Fish Blood & Orange wafter topped with a bit of corn.

This one had little interest in a fight and succumbed easily to bring me to 4 landed and 3 lost. The peg just stopped producing afterward and it was evident they’d moved off down into the corner where Terry and Sam started carving it up! 🙌🏻👏🏻👌🏻

I decided on a move to peg 16 which was as close as I could get but it just wasn’t happening. The lake had gone to sleep except in pegs 13 and 14 which was becoming like a hot tub with the amount of boshing. Terry was getting hysterical with 40lbers and Sam sat on cloud 9!

Last night and still nothing, rolled the dice once more into peg 2 but again not one sighting or liner. It wasn’t to be!

Great week, met some really lovely people and can’t grumble on the catches either.”

Rob Chandler ….

“Second day into the trip to 🇫🇷 and with a couple already gracing the bank, the pressure was off a little.

Before I left for France I had the aim of a 20, 30, 40 and a 50lber. With the first two already ticked off, I was searching for the bigger residents of the lake.

Armed with DT Bait Developments Fish Blood & Orange 22mm freshly DNA glugged alongside a load of pellet, the traps were set, and the right hand rod out a lot longer on a new spot the bailiff had pointed out.

On the third morning whilst laying in bed at around 8am there were a couple of slight indications on the right hand rod, enough to get me up. As I got to the rod the tip bent over, bobbin zipped forward and off it went.

I could feel it was heavy from the off and it plodded about for a little bit just like the bigger ones do. It then decided to wake up and seek open water. Luckily I had my waders ready as it rounded the tree and tried to get me in a right pickle.

After ten minutes it got close enough for a view and I could see just from the swirls and water it was shifting that it was a chunky common. With a bit for of a fight it slipped over the net and weighed in at 45.14.

Once the pictures were all done, Cherry decided to also fall in the lake causing quite a bit of amusement. 🤣 She was great and thanks for all the 📸 “

Robert Chandler annual trip into France 🇫🇷 in the campervan with the rods (and wife) loaded and the DT goodies prepped to catch those carp!

“Arrived a day early to check in before the rush and ensure the chance of a decent peg. After learning what had been going on around the lake, I passed up my initial thinking and landed in a swim where the carp had been hanging out of late.

With the DT Bait Developments boilies already glugged and ready to go, it didn’t take long for the Fish Blood and Orange to get to work.

Lost 3 on the first day which was a head scratcher but with a rig tweak and a little lengthening of the hair, this was soon rectified!

This was a screaming take, peeling line off the reel and giving a good account for itself. As it slipped into the net the knee shakes subsided being the first of the trip!

What a carp! The colours on this unit were something else, especially down toward the tail which was just mesmerising! 💥

One clear oversight with the excitement of being on the bank…. Always wear sunscreen! 🌞 caught out on day one!”
