It’s always a pleasure to spend sometime at Naim Audio in Salisbury, especially with the legend and fountain of knowledge Mark Raggett demonstrating the new Focal Scala Utopia EVO M speakers!
The Scala Utopia Evo M has an almost contradictory personality. It looks serious, expensive and technologically sophisticated, yet it doesn’t sound remotely clinical.
Instead, it immediately gives music a sense of scale, colour and physical presence that is difficult to ignore.
Voices have body, acoustic instruments have texture. A kick drum doesn’t merely occupy a position in the soundstage; it has weight and impact. And when the recording demands delicacy, the Scala can become remarkably subtle.
The impressive thing is not simply that it does all of these things. It is that it manages to do them simultaneously.
A huge step forward with new synergy that completely complements Naim electronics!
