Venus flytraps looking luscious amongst rejuvenated Besgrow Spagmoss.

All Besgrow Spagmoss products are naturally air-dried and completely untreated. This means dormant Sphagnum spores can sometimes remain within the moss and, given the right conditions — particularly very high humidity — may spring back to life, producing fresh, living Sphagnum alongside your plants.

⭐️NEW – Chilean Dried Red Long-Fibre Sphagnum Moss⭐️
This sphagnum is harvested from areas with particularly high light exposure, where increased UV levels naturally encourage red pigmentation. As a result, the strands grow more compactly, with less space between the leaves, creating a denser moss. It also retains an attractive pinkish-red hue, particularly when wet, making it an excellent top dressing for red and burgundy-coloured plants. Gamma irradiated to eliminate pests and grass seed.

• After nearly two years of supply issues, our long-awaited Argentinian sphagnum is finally back in stock. Featuring compact strands, minimal debris, and gamma irradiation to eliminate pests and grass seed. Available in 150g, 300g, 500g, 1kg and 5kg pack sizes.
• We have also restocked our Petal Sphagnum, consisting of individual sphagnum leaves that are ideal for seed germination and propagating small cuttings. Processing now takes place at source, allowing us to significantly reduce the price.

Why Orchiata orchid bark is different 🌱

That light white coating is calcium carbonate, applied intentionally during processing. It stabilises pH, reduces nitrogen drawdown, and provides a gentle, long-term calcium source at the root zone. Combined with slow breakdown, excellent airflow, and exceptional consistency, Orchiata supports stronger roots, healthier plants, and longer intervals between repotting.

A few pictures of dried Besgrow Spagmoss that has come back to life through dormant spores.

This can happen given the right conditions providing a wealthy supply of live sphagnum for your collections. The two species of sphagnum in Spagmoss (cristatum and subnitens) are globally renowned as the best species for horticulture due to strand length, water capacity/retention and anti-bacterial/fungal properties.

Kelpak is not a fertiliser!

Over the past forty years Kelpak’s research team has successfully revealed attributes hidden deep within the cells of the giant Ecklonia maxima kelp species. When processed with a proprietary extraction method, the kelp releases delicate compounds that elicit a number of responses in crops that are beneficial. The result is a powerful biostimulant that will positively influence cell and tissue development through the plant’s own hormonal action.

Kelpak biostimulant’s plant growth enhancing properties have been scientifically proven to greatly effect crop productivity by promoting several, often related actions, like greater root mass and lateral root growth, shoot and bud development, seed and pollen germination, pollen tube growth, chlorophyll output and photosynthesis. These interactions at a cellular level lead to stronger, healthier plants and improved yields.

Kelpak contains a number of active biomolecules like polyamines and phlorotannins, which aid plant growth and flowering in Orchids.
