So....I took a little tumble down a hill at the top of Sa Calobra Coll de Reis last week.
No. I wasn't on the bike, I was working, taking photographs.
After a ride in an ambulance and an overnight stay in hospital I came home all stitched and stapled back together again and have spent a week resting up with another one to go.
What has absolutely overwhelmed me has been the kindness and care I've received from so many people. Friends, colleagues and clients have sent me so many messages of support and offers of help. Overwhelmed doesn't even begin to describe it.
Thanks to Dave, the cyclist who was first to see me clamber back up to the road and threw his bike down to come to my assistance and then tracked me down on Facebook to see how I am. To Mindy, a doctor from Colorado who stopped to check me out before the ambulance arrived.
You cannot underestimate how good it was to see your face come down the corridor in the hospital. Thanks for tracking me down and putting a smile on my broken face. And my flatmate .wolfe
who selflessly took on the role of nursemaid and has fed me and cared for me for the last week. I'm forever in your debt Juliet. I can't imagine what the last week would have been like without you.
So now here I sit, frustrated by the inconvenience and cost I've caused to by not being able to work the sold out Training Camp with this week, but already looking forward to being well enough to do the next one and the next and the next....
If you are one of the many people who have pinged me a quick message of support or dropped in with a bottle of Laccau Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Time for a nap methinks 😴
