The texture of Steven James Will’s coralline crag vases contrast beautifully with the silliness of these David Austin roses. Even without watering our resilient garden roses keep growing and giving. 💕

Steven’s crag-infused porcelain vases appear like fossilised treasures excavated from our coastal landscape.

Made from porcelain and a coralline crag mixture, Steven has thrown a collection of vases for us, weaving our rich local heritage into each unique piece.

Coralline crag is a geological formation native to the Suffolk coastline containing marine deposits from the North Sea that formed millions of years ago. The crag melts and bursts out of the clay vases in streaks and bubbles when fired, leaving a unique texture and pattern which speaks of the rugged Suffolk coastline.

✨☀️SUMMER NEW ARRIVALS☀️✨
A new large pargetted panel adorns our shop, over the fireplace, displayed with our new Flower Bowls and Candleholders by Claire Halsey.
The large bee skeep panel, hand crafted by legendary, third generation pargetter, Bill Sargent. Bill is amoung the highest regarded pargetters in the country.

Pargetting is a decorative craft, now on the Heritage Crafts Endangered List. We commission the ongoing collection of panels to introduce customers to this endangered heritage craft. The panels are a part of our Heritage Crafts Collection.

Fact 1: Plants increase the sugar concentration in their nectar with the sound of a bee buzz.
Fact 2. I found a 2nd fascinating fact, although is it really true (?!): bees buzz in the key of C-Major, hence my choice of Mozart’s Piano Sonata No.1 in C-Major, K.279: I.Allegro!

Oh what joy a little refresh brings! ✨ We are really enjoying our freshly painted dresser, with Rubus to accent the interior and match our shop front, and Stoney Plaster to frame the rest and match our walls. Both beautiful paints are by Atelier Ellis

Hand painted oyster shells by decorative artist Lydia Beanland.

Each beautiful oyster shell is carefully selected by Lydia, then cleaned and polished to enhance their natural beauty and colour. The shells are hand painted in rich blue and opulent gold and finished with lacquer to transform them into even more precious objects.

These delicate shells are the perfect size for holding small jewellery pieces such as rings or can simply be placed around the home for decoration.

SOLID BRONZE ASPARAGUS SPEARS with a ‘verdigris’ finish, by Alice Andrea Ewing.

The asparagus are from this summer’s Suffolk harvest.

We also have asparagus spears with a ‘raw’ bronze finish available online and in the shop.

Every work by Alice is unique, a direct translation of the original organic specimen cast into bronze, produced by adapting the Italian Lost Wax method. The resulting bronze works capture every detail and curiosity of form.
