HAND-BLOWN TRICOLOUR GLASS VASE
A flamboyant tricolour hand-blown vases by Louisa Raven, with three greens blown with clear glass.

Louisa’s glassware is made from high-quality recycled lead crystal. Depending on the batch, it will be re-melted waste glass from one of the Dartington, Cumbria or Waterford Crystal factories.

Of all the crafts, glass-blowing is unique in that the material changes state whilst the glass-blower is working with it, from liquid to solid.

Emily Mitchell’s oval platter and hand-thrown Delftware double handle vase, hand painted with cobalt oxide and polychrome in her unique illustrative style and decorated with white slip and a white gloss glaze.

Each piece in Emily’s Delftware Collection is unique, through form and decoration. Dotted textures are a nod to Emily’s passion for eighteenth-century creamware, whilst the hints of chinoiserie in the application of blue brushwork against a white glaze remind us of the historical narratives deeply embedded in her work.

Faceted Porcelain Bud Vases by Steven James Will, each thrown in pure white porcelain, then faceted, with an internal cherry wood ash glaze, indicative of Steven’s sensitive work.

The vases look precious individually or more of statement in groups on tables, mantlepieces or shelves. Their scale makes them perfect for holding single stems or small posies.

Steven James Will lives and works amongst the expansive wildness of the Suffolk Coast. The constant change of the south Suffolk estuaries, their salt marshes, dead-end roads, forests and heaths inspire and contribute to Steven’s colour palette as he includes natural materials (mud, clay, coralline crag and wood ash) to decorate his thrown and cast porcelain.

A large octagonal ‘Owl in Oak Leaves’ pargetted panel, hand crafted by legendary, third generation pargetter, Bill Sargent.
An homage to Norman Jewson’s ‘Owl in Oak Leaves’, originally created for the 1920’s restoration of Owlpen Manor in the Cotswolds this simplistic and folkish panel captures the essence of Arts & Crafts pargetting.
Pargetting is a decorative craft, now on the Heritage Crafts Endangered List and we commission the ongoing collection of panels to introduce customers to this endangered craft. The panels are a part of our Heritage Crafts Collection.

The Milking Stool, by Jim Parsons.

A versatile three-legged stool/side table, made by Jim Parsons using a variety of traditional techniques almost all involving hand tools.

Made from ash sourced locally in Suffolk and painted by Jim, it works equally well as a stool or a side table. Painted in the colour Rubus by .ellis - the same colour as our shopfront.

We sell these in various colour ways by request.

Shown here with Jim’s side table / stool, with an oak top / seat, also painted in Rubus.

✨NEW ARRIVAL✨

The ‘Equinox Quilt’ by Alison Louise Brookes.

Part of a limited series of singular edition, botanically dyed and hand stitched quilts.

“My thought process for the theme is that the piece should reflect a bounty of produce - so the focus on natural dyes and upcycling waste was key. A patchwork and quilted covering to cocoon and comfort”.

Alison created natural dyes from the list of plants and flowers below into which she hand dyed lengths of natural linen. She created a double-sided patchwork quilt design and the labour of love continued as Alison hand quilted the entire quilt.

The natural dyes are soft and harmonious and yet sing so brightly. This is a very special body of work by a very passionate and sensitive designer.

“Lovingly dyed with the bounty of the land…”
