Design and create your own work of art, using a mixture of broken ceramic and glass pieces and other found objects; making a beautiful mosaic relief

Come and create your own mosaic piece, with the support and guidance of our qualified tutor and resident artist: Emma Jayne Robertson.

You may even have some pieces that you want to incorporate into your design, such as old bits of jewellery, sea glass or your favourite piece of broken or chipped china.

You will be shown how to simplify your image/design, colour block your areas and then create your mosaic.

Most students can achieve a small piece in the two hour session. This will need to be grouted once the glue has dried. You can either book another short session to do this (1 hour is included in the price) or we can provide the materials and instructions for you to complete this at home or, if you prefer, you can leave it with us to complete the messy bit.

If you would like to create a larger project; simply book in to as many sessions as you like/need!

A lovely way to relax and get lost in the creative flow!

Learn the ancient art of stained glass with this beginners course in leaded light construction: Traditional Lead Came Method.

You will gain the knowledge and practice the techniques required to successfully design and construct a stained glass panel.

Following a set design, you will learn to cut and shape glass to a simple pattern, assemble the pieces with lead came, solder joints and waterproof with special leaded light cement.

You will all be following the same design but will be able to choose the colours of glass used.

All materials, use of tools and equipment is included.

Please Note: Please wear close-toed shoes.
This workshop involves working with lead & lead solder so it is not advisable for pregnant/breast feeding women

We are delighted to have tutor Louise Ferrier return to share her glass expertise for next months Creative Escape, working with strips of coloured pre-cut glass to create simple initials.

In this session we will be looking at the ancient art of stained glass using the Tiffany method. This technique is ideal for making small decorative glass items where copper foil tape and solder are used to join pieces together.

Our Creative Escape sessions are aimed at those who wish to get creative with other like minded creatives and perhaps try a craft/art medium they haven’t explored before.

Enjoy a creative day learning the Tiffany method of stained glass. This is the ideal technique for making small decorative glass items where copper foil tape and solder are used to join pieces of glass together.

There will be a range of beautiful sheet glass and designs to choose from to make your plant stakes. You will learn to cut & shape glass, apply copper foil tape, solder pieces together, add wire/paint details and finally affix your piece to the copper stake.

There will be a break for lunch - Framlingham has many eateries or lovely views to eat your own picnic lunch. So enjoy your day of Creativity!

Please Note: You must wear close-toed shoes. The class involves working with lead solder so is not advisable for pregnant or breast-feeding women.

An hour of creativity for all your budding young artists but a little more structured than our Mini Creatives session.

Every week Creatives will concentrate on a new art or craft skill.

Including Drawing, Painting, Sculpting, Modelling, Stitching & Printing; Creatives will look at different techniques, media and subject matter to build on their skills and knowledge.

Please bring an apron or old shirt as there is the potential to get messy! (We have disposable ones if you forget!)

Create your own illuminated gingerbread style cottage from clay

Use the slab-building method to construct your own illuminated gingerbread-style cottage from clay. You can add imprinted, textural surfaces and cut out details to make a beautiful tealight house.

All pieces made will be colour washed with a natural coloured underglaze to highlight any imprints and then fired. You will have the option of a glazed or natural finish.

If you would prefer, you can opt to decorate your pieces with a range of colours at a later date (additional charges will apply) Please just let us know before you leave your session.

This 10 week course, designed for those with some experience of clay, will advance your knowledge and skills to apply to your own projects.

Ceramic Artist, Emma Jayne Robertson, will share knowledge and expertise to guide you to create your own projects.

Each term there will be the introduction or revision of a skill or technique for hand-building or decorating clay, that you can then experiment with.

Your tuition and use of tools & equipment is included in your fee.
You will Pay As You Go for all materials and firings as needed. You can purchase credit ahead to make it easier to budget if desired. We suggest £25 as a starting point and then you can top it up if needed.

Dates: If the course has already started and you wish to still join, please contact us to see if we have space.

Suitability: Adults Those with some experience (Please ask for advice.)

Duration: 10 weeks x 2 hours (every Tuesday evening with a break for half term)
