At JP Cages we are a small team offering a range of made to order products all made in house from start to finish as well as custom bespoke services..
What most people don't understand is the pressure we are under every day. A simple set of tasks to complete get interrupted and held up constantly for a whole manor of things.
I'm not a just a business owner, I'm a welder, fabricator, a CAD designer, production manager, logistics manager, sometimes im a delivery guy a website developer, a customer service manager, sales manager and now I'm a fu***ng software developer! All this whilst trying to be a father and struggling to find time for my daughter where im not stressed up to my eyeballs!
Due to this communication isn't always the easiest to keep on top of, Summer is incredibly difficult for this industry, Sales take a dive due to the holidays and staff go on holiday. Cash flow gets squeezed and I personally hold that pressure on my head working unhealthy hours to keep us above water.
My mental health had taken a huge hit over the past few years due to relationship problems caused by being a business owner. (A lot of people in business will know exactly what I'm talking about!) After a massive burnout the horrible truth is I'm surprised I'm still here! If it wasn't for my daughter I wouldn't be!
As a result of my huge burnout management fell Slack and has resulted in a few issues which are now landing on my lap. Most of those people are being understanding and I am working to resolve said issues..
As director of JP Cages I will always stand by our customers and rectify any mishaps which occur. We do not claim to be perfect in every way but what we are is honest and we will always find solutions to move forward and learn from it.
The key problem we currently experience is lack of staff and a proper management system Accompanied with inconsistent cash flow!
Here's the fixes I am putting into place to make JP Cages a reliable and consistent company to deal with!
1. I have self taught developing websites and software in order to take full control of every thing in one place.
Our website not only provides a pretty place to place orders, behind it being built is our operating system. This operating system will feed me as company director everything I need day to day from accounts, orders enquiries, stocking and all other tasks in one clean to manage window. It also now offers full transparency to customers with access to our production tracker via their orders.
Currently a lot of my tasks are manual and rely on memory which is great unless your riddled with adhd like I am and get constant interruptions during tasks.

Restructuring of the workshop to improve efficiency and soon we will have a new very experienced sales & customer service manager once hes tied up some loose ends.
3. Once I have this under control we are going to be improving our production line so we can drop our turnaround times and provide a higher quality of service and hopefully find enough orders from you lot do drop the prices.
In order for JP Cages to perform we need your support! And hopefully if you've taken the time to read this you will stand by us and we will work hard to provide a high quality of service!.
