Not great pictures but a year since their last prune these old trees are doing well. Pruning created more vigour, less but bigger fruit and prevents them from gradually dying.

Dismantling and removal of dead sycamore in a children's nursery. We did this in August. The fences on both sides remained undamaged. A combination of cutting it up small or lowering bigger timber on a rope rigging system.

Good reduction on this Cherry last month. With cherries you can't be too hard on them, so it's about reducing them enough but still keeping it looking natural

Three sympathetic reductions to these Cherry-plums. Best time of year to do them. They aren't keen on pruning but it has to be done. They tend to throw up water shoots which really you need to keep to keep the vigour in the tree. I usually select the longest ones to take off and leave the shorter ones. Thereby reducing the height and thinning at the same time. Don't be too precise, these were done with secateurs, pruning saw and long reach loppers. Try to keep a natural, not totally uniform shape.

Great customers the last two days and great conversations

Not a bad reduction on this Cherry. Checked thoroughly for nests first. It's the right time to prune stone-fruited trees, Cherry, plum, damson. The trick is not to do them too uniformly which is difficult when up close. It may be slightly too neat, but it'll soon look natural again.
