What a wonderful opportunity! Can any local schools take up this offer?!

Please share with your teacher friends—we’d LOVE to fill these spaces! 🙏 Two schools cancelled today 😖 so we now have availability for one class on:

🌾 Tuesday 22nd September
🌾 Thursday 24th September

The trips are FREE to the school. If you can organise transport and permissions at short notice, we’d love to hear from you.

I’m going to be open about why these dates are available…

We’ve had several schools cancel farm visits at very short notice this year, which is incredibly frustrating as a small family business.

These places were booked several months ago and are highly sought after. We plan our year around them, receive funding to deliver them and bring in a member of staff to host the children. She has arranged nursery care for her own child so she can work these dates, so cancelling her shift has a knock-on effect too.

Today, one school told us their headteacher wouldn’t approve the visit. Another discovered their risk assessment wouldn’t allow them to visit at this time of year.

We completely understand that schools have procedures to follow. What’s frustrating is finding this out less than two weeks before a trip booked months ago!

When one school takes a place, another misses out.

Please make sure you have the necessary headteacher approval and have checked your risk assessment before reserving a date.

Sadly, after this year’s late cancellations, we’ll likely introduce a refundable deposit for 2027 school trips. This would be returned after the visit, but should ensure dates are only reserved once all checks and permissions are complete.

We genuinely LOVE hosting these trips and giving children the chance to visit a working dairy farm, learn where their food comes from and experience farming first-hand 🐄🚜❤️

Let’s turn today’s frustration into something positive!

Come along to Upton Bridge at 11.30am and cheer on the boats! £2 per boat, with money being raised for Upton YFC and West Midlands Air Ambulance. 🛶💙

🎤 NEW MEMBERS EVENING – Wednesday 2nd September
Head along to Upton Rugby Club from 6.30pm to find out what Upton YFC is all about. Everyone is welcome!
