There's a Pot of Gold at the end of every rainbow, so the folklore tale goes. The Irish legend tells how the fairy Leprechauns unearthed a pot of treasure that had been buried deep in the ground following an Irish invasion by the Vikings, which they then reburied in a secret location.
According to folklore, the rainbow acts as a magical marker hiding the hidden treasure's location - which can never be found!
Our Pot of Gold bobbin has rainbow coloured raindrops and a pot at the bottom for the gold coins that are inside the bobbin🌈

We love a Sweet Pea and we still have a few blooms going in the garden!
They are great inspiration for making pretty lace bobbins and pins and this fresh mix of colours along with the Sweet Pea Bouquet bobbin (2nd from left) were new for 2026💜🩵🩷💙🤍

Everybody begins at the beginning. Including Tony as a bobbin maker back in the 1970's! He had a gentle sense of humour and this 'L Plates' bobbin was one of his early designs.
These bobbins were popular with the lacemakers starting to learn lacemaking, with the guidance and support of their teachers. Let's hear it for the lace teachers 🙏🌏🌎🌍

Winnie has been busy in New Zealand 🌏 Many thanks for the photos Winnie; there are freshly-spangled new arrivals in the bottom centre photo next to the pretty earrings and the pillow photos show a piece we shared last year, not long before before the gremlins took it away so we're sharing it again! It's called HOOP (HOPE) and Winnie says "There are 11 pieces laced by 11 people. Brugge Master class by Kant Centrum" Just beautiful. Thank you Winnie😊

"The Life Cycle of the Strawberry" and of course we have a bobbin for that!
We have a couple actually and it's been a bumper year for sweet, juicy fruits here in the UK this summer🍓🍓
Our original Strawberries bobbin is in the second photo and the newer Fantastic Fruits Strawberries, part of the fruity set of 8 bobbins we designed for our 2024 catalogue is side by side in the 3rd photo for comparison.
Back in 2010 we also made a pretty Mother & Babe bobbin decorated with Wild Strawberries (illustrated on page 13 in the catalogue in the website archive) so you can tell that we really love the strawberry!

A gem! Here is a beautiful Rose Garden mat which was designed and made in the UK by one of our lovely customers, who prefers to remain anonymous. We first shared this a few years ago before it was lost in the Facebook hijack of 2025 so here it is for all our new followers to enjoy.
We're so lucky to see the gorgeous results of the bobbins' work in the hands of the lacemaker, a privilege and a total joy! Thank you🙏

The bobbins in this photo span many years of Ben and Tony's bobbin designs and include an early Fairy Tales bobbin called Rapunzel (you can just see her peeking out beneath the green spangle beads in the centre of the bobbins), Dizzy in Mauve (5th from the top left) and Monday's Child (is fair of face, nestling on her side in the centre).
The Blue Daisy Mother & Babe to the left of the Holly Berries is one of Tony's bobbins.
On the right of the photo are the Together Apart & Thank You Rainbow bobbins which are both from 2020.
