18 years ago, I moved into Studio 2 at the Red House Glass Cone. I hit the ground running, as it was the International Festival of Glass weekend and I was commissioned to make 200 fridge magnets for goodie bags for attendees of the Awards ceremony! It was a crazy weekend with lots of kids painting pottery and any doubts I’d had about a change in career were put to one side.
Since then, Saz’s Ceramics has weathered recession after recession, a change of studio to studio 8 and a Pandemic. The business has changed in so many ways over the years and I have had so much fun teaching and learning with customers, many of whom I now consider my friends.
So now, with mixed emotions, I’m moving on. I recently moved to Bridgnorth and have been busy building my own studio so that I can work from home and develop my own ceramics under the name of The Glazed Look. I have a couple of little online shops ClayPlaybySaz and TheGlazedLook on Etsy and want to really push myself to create my own range of pottery for sale.
I’ll still be teaching Adults workshops and my Have a go sessions on the Potter’s wheel, and will be popping up at the Cone on an ad hoc basis, but I will be officially closing the doors at Saz’s Ceramics at the end of this month.
Thank you all so much for your custom and continued support. I am a bit apprehensive about the next chapter in my book, but I know deep down that it’s now time for a change. Hoping that some of you will follow my adventures as The Glazed Look (please like and follow if you’re interested). And hopefully come to Bridgnorth for a lovely workshop tba!
Thanks for reading! 🥰 Saz
