Just moved into a rented cottage with an open fireplace and large draughty flue!
How to seal it off safely was problematic as access was not as easy as it seemed.
However having read the reviews on Chimney sweep, all I can say is that previous customers gave excellent appraisals and I was more than happy to invest in a 500 Gm box, of sheep wool,. ….and it has not disappointed. It was so easy to tease out and then stuff into a large nylon material bag approx 60x60 cm but flexible allowing me to push it up into the flue and then secure it there by putting a piece of flexible plywood approx 90 x 30 , which rested on either side of the flue as it opened out from a 50 cm …. Perfect fit!….. and virtually draught proof. ,and the sooty grit debris, is no longer falling regularly into the fireplace itself!…problem solved!…

I found Chimneysheep on a random rabbit hole search and saw the fleece. It instantly reminded me of my grandad putting fleece on the soil of their smallholding. So I ordered a small amount to test. It’s Brilliant! It’s cut down my watering by half!! Used it on my veggies in pots and containers and it keeps the water in the soil so well. And a big bonus is that it deters snails or slugs too! Some small birds took a few bits for nests which was a joy to watch. I’ve now bought a larger amount. Great material and great company. Can’t rate them highly enough

Really impressed with the terracotta range.
I’ve used the larger spikes for medium sized plants but as they had sold out I thought I’d try the smaller 6” ones. They’re great for new plants like my herbs ( you can use 500ml or 750m bottle on them.
I use 2 litre Ollas for my new hydrangeas and they’re coping well without additional watering.
Saves water and lugging watering cans!

On Sunday we released 28 harvest mice at one of our sites. I hope they like their new home - they were certainly enthusiastic about getting out of the boxes and into the wilderness!

One of the donors to Buy Land Plant Trees CIC came to see how their 10,000 trees were getting on. These birch trees are in their third growing season but have got away above the bracken already. In these dry conditions, the bracken shelters the young trees and provides a more humid environment for them to thrive in.
