A flock of photos from today's Waterstones Worthing workshop ➡️

I am always blown away by the creativity and talent of kids, their playful creative energy when drawing is so infectious! It was also quite a lot of fun wearing wings too 😁 thank you for having me and to all the families who came along 🙏🐦🐤🐓

Stockist spotlight: Rheged

Find our prints, tea towels and cards in the Rheged shop as part of their summer exhibition, 'The Brilliance of Birds'. We spent a day at this fantastic arts centre 4 years ago; I was so pleased when they got in touch to work together. It's well worth a visit and very family friendly with lots to do and take part in.

Rheged is a gallery, café, cinema, shopping venue, workplace and creative space on the edge of the Northern Lakes. The exhibition celebrates the beauty, behaviour, symbolism and diversity of birds through the work of 57 UK artists. Featuring ceramics, painting, print, photography, sculpture and textiles, alongside original children’s book illustrations and a spectacular mural by Cumbrian artist David Cemmick depicting birds visiting Cumbria through the four seasons.

FAMILY WORKSHOP reminder! 🎨🦖🐥

This Sunday, 2 Aug, 11-12pm Waterstones Worthing

Let's Dress Up and Draw!

Join me for a colourful drawing workshop and create your own portraits of birds and dinosaurs. You're welcome to dress up as your favourite species too! We'll explore different ways to illustrate their fantastic feathers, brilliant beaks and wonderful wings. There will be plenty of inspiration on hand from my books: Chickens and Other Dinosaurs and Funny Bums, Freaky Beaks and Other Incredible Creature Features.  

Age 5+

I'll also be signing copies of the books 🤩

Free but we advise reserving a space by contacting Waterstones Worthing - 01903 234148 - or calling into the bookshop.

Now I'm off to read Sunshine Pie at Olive's nursery ☀️☀️☀️ It's a bookish kinda week!

I drew on the window today! 🎨🐔🦕

There you'll find one T-Rex, two chickens and various feathered cousins pecking away at the bookshelf. I had grrreat fun taking photos of the creatures from inside to turn them into massive avian invaders against the backdrop of town... Local folk, let me know if you spot them on your travels!

This trio didn't make the cut for the 'T**s of the World' print a few years ago. I just found them in a folder and thought they deserved some airtime here! Maybe I'll do something with them one day?

For now - let's give them a back story!
