Launched in 1995, the Virtual Boy was Nintendo’s ambitious attempt to bring players into the world of virtual reality long before VR became mainstream. Designed by Gunpei Yokoi, the legendary creator of the Game Boy, the console promised an immersive 3D gaming experience unlike anything else available at the time. Although it ultimately became a commercial failure, the Virtual Boy has since earned cult status among retro gaming enthusiasts and collectors.
