If you’ve got an older or more traditional home, the style of your windows can make a big difference to the overall look.

Flush sash windows are a lovely option if you want something clean and classic. They sit neatly within the frame, giving that traditional finish without looking bulky.

It’s always worth knowing what’s actually keeping your windows and doors secure.

Most modern frames now use multipoint locking, which means the lock engages at several points around the frame instead of relying on one single catch.

It gives the window or door a much stronger, more secure feel and makes it far harder to force open.

If your locks are starting to feel a bit loose, stiff or tired, it might be worth getting them checked. Better to spot a small issue early than wait until it becomes a bigger one.

Tilt and turn windows are a clever bit of design.

They open inwards two ways: tilt the top in for a bit of fresh air, or swing the whole thing open when you want to clean the glass or air the room properly.

They work especially well in flats and modern homes, where space is tight and reaching the outside of the glass isn't easy several floors up.
