Setting the scene… bare with!
Yesterday one of my girls was due to go out to dinner, Saturday she bought some new jeans, tried them on, perfect except 9” too long!
“Mum can you make these shorter?”
“Yes”
“Like can you sew them shorter?”
“Yes”
“Properly so they don’t look like they have been made shorter?”
“Yes”
“Really?”
“🤷🏻♀️yes?”
“Have you still got all of those bags of clothing for the charity shop?”
“No, why?”
“There was a load of jeans in there that needed a hem but didn’t think you knew how to?”
“Oh ok? You do know what I do for a living don’t you?”
“You see and teach sewing? Why”
“Well done, have a think now if I can shorten your jeans?”
It’s now 6.17pm
“Laigha said she will be here at 6.30, the jeans are on your work desk..”
In that 13 minutes, the jeans were tried on, pinned, hemmed, chopped and on her body…
“Wow well done! They look like jeans at the bottom too! Can I bring the others down tomorrow please?”
“Others?”
“I have 8 more pairs that need hemming, each time I bought them they were too long so I gave them to the charity shop, now I know you can hem it will save me a fortune!!”
Oh Yey!! I might not mention I can do other alterations too!!
