The General Market opened in 1879, 143 years ago and has beautiful Victorian architecture, and our Sister Market ( Butchers) which opened in 1848, 174 years ago.
Why not come in and support the traders and shop in the real Victorian Markets. Have a good look around at the unique arcitecture. Shop with confidence with traders that have decades of experiance with quality stuff.
Take in all that History!!
Theese markets were built while Queen Victoria was on the throne, they sold newspapers reporting the sinking of the Titanic, they were built before Blackpool Tower, they survived 2 world Wars and now a pandemic
