Komai style vesta case, Japan, c. 1900, Meiji Period. The iron case typically decorated in gold and silver inlay, with a shaped panel containing a peacock perched in a tree, the reverse with boats on a river, before Mount Fuji. All on a dense gold leaf decorated ground.
Height – 5.5 cm, 2 1/8”.
Width – 4 cm, 1 5/8”.
Depth – 0.7 cm, 3/8”.
Condition – No damage. No repair.

Chinese porcelain ginger jar and cover, c. 1880, Qing Dynasty. The globular jar, hand painted in famille verte enamels, with birds amongst flowering peony, and rocks, above a continuous lappet motif.
The domed cover, similarly decorated.
Four character mark in iron red enamel to the base.
Height – 25 cm, 9 7/8”.
Diameter – 19.5 cm, 7 3/4”.
Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.

Bilston enamel box, Staffordshire, c. 1770. The large box the cover hand painted with a romanticised rural scene of a shepherd seated before Classical ruins in a river landscape. He plays his pipe, whilst accompanied by cattle, within a white enamelled scroll panel, upon a lilac ground.
The sides of the box, similarly decorated with panels of sheep, a pony and a goat.
Having hinged gilt metal mounts.
Width – 9 cm, 3 1/2”.
Depth – 7 cm, 2 3/4”.
Height – 3.8 cm, 1 1/2”.
Condition – Typical crack to the cover, and minute chips to the rim of the box, but in overall excellent condition. No restoration.

Coalport porcelain cabinet cup and saucer, c. 1820. The shaped pedestal cup hand painted with sprays of flowers, in gilt scroll cartouches, on a cobalt blue ground. Having a gilt high scroll handle.
The saucer similarly decorated, and having a recess to hold the cup.
Height of cup – 6.6 cm, 2 5/8”.
Diameter – 9.8 cm, 3 7/8”.
Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.

Staffordshire figure of Lord Shaftesbury, c. 1845.

Staffordshire pottery figure of Lord Shaftesbury, Alpha Factory, c. 1845. Well modelled as the Reformist, seated with a book in his right hand, and a child stood before him.
His jacket decorated in underglaze cobalt blue, and the rest of the figure in underglaze and overglaze enamels.
Set upon a shaped base, and having a single gilt line.
Height – 19 cm, 7 1/2”.
Width – 6.5 cm, 2 5/8”.
Depth – 6.5 cm, 2 5/8”.
Condition – Typical wear to the overglaze black enamel. No damage. No restoration.
Lord Shaftesbury was a leading advocate of living and working conditions, especially those of children. He strove to improve education, and worked tirelessly in the fields of mental health provision, and wider social reforms.

A large Chinese porcelain Dragon vase, 19th century, Qing Dynasty. Very well painted in underglaze blue, with two large dragons, contesting a Flaming Pearl, amongst clouds. The painted with a continuous band of Ruyi heads.
The neck pf the vase, applied with a further, moulded dragon.
Height – 45.5 cm, 17 3/4”.
Diameter – 23 cm, 9”.
Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.

English porcelain chamberstick, c. 1830. The chamberstick, well modelled as a tulip sconce growing above a rose, and supported on a leaf shaped base, decorated with gilt veins, the stem forming the handle. The flowers naturistically enamelled.

A rare Coalport porcelain Coaching jug, c. 1830. Finely painted with the Hull to York Royal Mail stagecoach, carrying passengers, drawn by a team of four horses, through the Yorkshire countryside. The door of the stagecoach with the inscription ‘G.A. Mount & Co.’
Having an elaborate scroll handle.
G.L. gilt monogram beneath the spout.
Height – 20cm, 7 7/8”.
Width (Handle to spout) – 23 cm, 9 1/8”.
Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
