Good morning,
Long time no post and it’s a long one so grab a cuppa!
So I thought I’d pop on to explain why I had to shut my order books so suddenly in case any of you thought I was dramatic enough to close them due to a flooded kitchen 🤪.
On Tuesday morning Pip (our eldest) had to be collected from college as soon as she had arrived there due to an unexplained severe shortness of breath. After urgent care assessment and many tests/scans she was admitted for a submassive pulmonary embolism as she had blood clots on both lungs and her heart was under a huge amount of stress as a result. Thankfully with bed rest, medication and monitoring she was discharged after 6 nights and is now taking it very very easy at home, taking blood thinners to prevent any more clots occurring and waiting for the existing clots to dissolve as well as waiting for thorough investigations to find out why this all happened to her.
Obviously I’ve been very much distracted from work but I am proud to say that despite spending 7 days and 6 nights in hospital with her (photo shows my feet up in my “bed”.) I still managed to get my teacher orders finished and posted in time for everyone with one remaining that will be posted today.
I will get back to painting before too long but am keeping my books closed to anything but festive orders or pieces that aren’t needed until Christmas (maybe gifts) as at present my priority is Pip and also Button as it’s the summer holidays and she’s had a scary old week or so as well. My painting keeps me happy and calm so all of the wonderful orders I currently have to work on are appreciated more than I can say.
Thank you to everyone who messaged me to check if I was ok when I first restricted orders to Christmas only and to everyone who has helped in many ways over what has been the worst week too. It can be lonely being a solo small business owner who wears all of the hats but I am very lucky to have such a gorgeous group of supportive people looking out for me.
