Meet my new stand buddy who will make their first appearance at ! The garden themed stand is starting to gain some creatures. Any suggestions for a name?

I got the pattern on Etsy from a shop called Joans Garden, she's also on Ravelry but I can't find an account to tag on here. It has, hands down, the best engineering I have ever seen in a knitting pattern! This snail contains no wires for positioning and the only sewing is a few stitches to keep the shell coil in just the right place!

Yarn:
Shell: "Magenta" on Platinum DK
Foot: "Hidden Colours" on Platinum DK

[Image description:
All three photos show a large knitted snail sitting on paving slabs in my garden. The snail has a bright pink shell with a tight spiral coil on one side, and the brightly speckled foot is glazed with black, like an iridescent snail foot sparkling in the sun. Some old plant pots and overgrown plants can be seen in the background.]

"Hidden Colours" is inspired by the little snail who came to visit me when I was cleaning out my pond (swipe to see the video!). At first, it looks like its foot and head are black but as it moves around in the sun you can see so many colours sparkling on the surface!

1 Two skeins of yarn sitting next to a loose hank. The yarn is speckled with bright pink, purple, blue, yellow, green, and orange, and over dyed with black.
2 A video of a little snail on a garden path. Its shell is a spiral of dark brown and pale yellow and its black head and foot are sparkling with many colours in the sun.]

This is "On Amphibian Watch", it's a lovely mixture of greens with some subtle brown speckles. I have plans to knit a frog in this colour but my newts aren't green so we may need to add another amphibian based colourway soon!

Remember the other week when I thought my pond was empty, then I realised it had newts in it (and a frog that I haven't seen since!), and within a couple of hours I had to save one of my newly discovered newts from the grass because a blackbird realised it was too big to eat?! This yarn is called "Pond Drama" and I think the name speaks for itself! 🦎🐸🐦‍⬛

1 A skein of yarn, dyed in a mixture of blues, greens, and browns is held above a shallow garden pond filled with various leafy and mossy pond plants.
2 Three skeins of blue, green, brown, and white variegated yarn sitting in a row next to a loose hank of yarn in the same colours in the foreground.]

Climbing the Walls is based on the clematis flowers that burst into colour this April. It's so much fun waiting to find out what colour all the buds in the garden are going to be! (If you're new here, we moved house in January - I'm not just very forgetful! 😂)

[Image description:
1 A skein of white and purple yarn with pale greenish yellow speckles is held up in front of a wall covered in a cascade of purple and white clematis flowers.
2 Three skeins of purple, white, and greenish yellow yarn sitting in a row next to a loose hank of yarn in the same colours.
3 A clematis plant climbing old wooden trellis to reach high up the brick wall of a house. Purple and white flowers and green cleaves cover the plant.
4 A single purple and white clematis flower is held above garden paving on a sunny day. The centre of the flower is light greenish yellow.]

The purple and yellow crocuses were gone by the time I took yarn photos but Crocus yarn is still here! We moved house in mid January and the garden is full of colourful surprises like these that keep popping up as the seasons change.

Camellia yarn had to happen! If you've been following my stories recently you'll have seen photos of the seven (yes, seven!) camellia bushes in my new garden. This colourway is a variegated green and white with various shades of pink speckles.

2 Green, white, and pink yarn sitting on grass next to pink, red, and white camellia flowers.

4 A camellia bush covered in dark pink, almost red, flowers with a blue sky and white cloud in the background.

"Daffodil" is a bright and variegated spring yellow. A yarn garden in spring definitely can't be without daffodils!

[Image description:
1 A skein of yellow yarn held in front of a background of green leaves and a few pale yellow daffodils.
2 A small cluster of daffodils in my garden, with a bright yellow centre and pale yellow outer petals.
3 A row of three skeins of variegated yellow yarn on a white background.
4 A cluster of bright yellow daffodils and green leaves next to a large tree. It looks like woodland but it's actually at the side of a main road.
5 A rectangular dye pan filled with bright yellow yarn, showing the variation from lighter to darker yellow from one end of the pan to the other.]

"Secret Plans of Mystery Bulbs" because I still have no idea what half of the things growing in my garden actually are! (New old houses are full of surprises; at least this is a fun one!) The Etsy shop is all ready-to-ship quantities at the moment as my dye space has some electrical problems but get in touch if you would like me to dye anything for you as I may still be able to do it.

3 A metal greenhouse stand filled with bright hand dyed yarn instead of flowers.
4 A grid wall filled with yarn on hooks and in fabric planter pockets.
5 A green metal tin that says "seeds" on the front, filled with needle stoppers. In the background is a white plant stand filled with mini skeins sets.
