Inside the Bottle Portuguese Wine Tasting


Thursday 28th June - 7.30pm - £30 per person

Laura is back with us again at the end of the month to host a Portuguese themed wine tasting, complete with three course meal!

You may know the drill by now, but for those who haven't had the pleasure of joining us on one of these events, wine tastings in our restaurant are informal and fun, great for those who want to expand their knowledge of wine.

Portugal is full of fabulous wines, and Laura aims to showcase some of the most interesting and affordable of these. We will pair the wines with a three course menu, all for only £30. What makes this event even more special, is that proceeds will be donated to Cancer Research!

Last night we had our annual Christmas wine tasting at Walmgate Ale House and Bistro We started with a Forager's Fizz which is Prosecco and Sloe Gin. It was a great festive berry start to the evening and so easy. We suggest adding a couple of frozen berries to your drink. Who doesn't love a Prosecco and Gin infused berry?!

Prosecco is great on its own but benefits from the addition of other carefully chosen ingredients. Discover our bubbly cocktail recipes – ideal for a party.

Last night's York Food and Drink Festival Call My Bluff tasting with Mike from Walmgate Ale House and Bistro and Cyrus from The Wine Chapter was lots of fun. Guests enjoyed six wines with nibbles provided by suppliers at the festival.

The wines have all been ordered and will be kept under lock and key for our Call my Bluff this Sunday. Tickets are only £15 for the event in the tent this Sunday at 6pm. You get to try six wines and there will be some great food to accompany the tasting.
