🌿 A look back at our recent visits to Mount St John 🌿

This month, two groups of Johnsons staff have had the opportunity to visit the beautiful gardens at Mount St John. 🌱🌳

Having supplied plants to the estate for many years, it’s always great for our team to get away from the nursery and see where some of the plants we grow and supply actually end up.

From seeing established planting in its final setting to picking up a little horticultural inspiration along the way, both visits were a great opportunity to build plant knowledge and see the results of our work first-hand. 🌸

And, of course, meeting some of the residents along the way was an added bonus… 🐱🐴 We loved seeing the cat and horses too!

A big thank you to the team at Mount St John for welcoming us — we thoroughly enjoyed our visits! 💚

We’re starting to spot the first signs of the seasons changing across the nursery. 🌿

Leaves are beginning to turn, autumn shades are creeping in and our plants are starting to swap their summer greens for beautiful reds, oranges and golds. 🍁

It’s one of our favourite times of year on the nursery — and it also means Bare Root & Root Ball season isn’t far away! 🌳

Behind every jar of honey are thousands of flower visits — so this month, we’re celebrating the plants that keep our pollinators busy. 🌼

As summer begins to fade, late-flowering plants become an important source of nectar and pollen, helping bees and other pollinators continue to find food well into autumn.

A few September favourites include:

💗 Sedum – Nectar-rich flower heads that are often buzzing with bees and butterflies.

🌸 Japanese Anemone – A brilliant late-season bloomer, providing pollen when many summer favourites are starting to finish.

💜 Aster – Masses of daisy-like flowers that provide a valuable late source of nectar and pollen.
