A journey from Berserker to winter-bear!
This project has been an adventure in all ways possible.
All linework in blue, loads of white and teals, dragons and bears all powerfully displayed, there is loads to love but also a path to understand.

See, the original idea was a Berserker sleeve, but in the process of creation, my client realised that this aggressive expression might not be for him, that being a man if a certain build, it might make him look more like blunt force than he is (which he most certainly is not), so we played with ideas and eventually, this wintery winds and wyrm of frost - meets winter-bear came to be, a result I am very happy with, and I am excited to finish for a final session at some point!

A sleeve to upset all the Folkish racists for sure! And a pride and joy of mine!

This was a complicated undertaking- combining West African ornaments with Viking Age artwork, respecting both sides of cultural and genealogical heritage! Luckily, all form-language can be made to correspond when filtered through the right mesh, in this case, my brain, and the result is this: a sleeve that I am madly proud of!

The bindrune work isn't decoration for its own sake. Isar built three intentions into this piece: protection under the old gods, blessings of good health and long life, and the kind of fortune that comes from wealth held honestly. Ringerike's interlocking, near-serpentine linework was the natural choice for a wolf piece, knotwork that tightens and releases the way the animal moves.⁠
