Hey folks! I hope you are well. Unfortunately Rebecca and I have decided to close The Barn and bring an end to that particular chapter.
It's been a great experience and a real pleasure to get to meet so many customers and creatives along the way. I have to say that it's been a genuine source of joy to spend time surrounded by stunning works of art and beautiful creations and I sincerely hope that the same joy has been shared and felt by everyone who has stepped through the door, whether through curiosity. by accident or in search of that perfect quirky, local gift.
I firmly believe that this experience has prepared the way for a new venture, but in the meantime I want to thank everyone who contributed to the success of The Barn, both artists and customers alike. You couldn't have one without the other and that is what made The Barn the success it has been.
The vision for the Barn was to promote local talent and provide a unique shopping experience and it feels great to walk away in the knowledge that it achieved both, with aplomb. Thousands of pounds have stayed in the local economy and gone back to creators to continue to fund their crafts. The Island would be much more dull without them.
Anyway, it is with gratitude, hope and humility that I bow out, for the time being. New friendships and wonderful memories in tact.
The few negatives have been learning opportunities that I appreciate, too.
Rebecca's Art Workshops for Children will continue to run and expand with all the educational fun that they have become synonymous with. Both the after school club and the holiday workshops have gone from strength to strength during our tenure, at The Barn. It will be exciting to watch that growth carry on and further expand, too.
