In China manufacturing, NNN usually refers to an NNN Agreement. It’s a legal agreement used to protect your business when dealing with Chinese manufacturers, suppliers, or factories.

NNN stands for:
1. Non-Disclosure – The factory agrees not to disclose your product designs, ideas, customer lists, or confidential information.
2. Non-Use – The factory agrees not to use your designs or information for its own benefit.
3. Non-Circumvention – The factory agrees not to bypass you and sell directly to your customers or distributors.

An NNN agreement is often more suitable for China manufacturing than a standard NDA because it specifically addresses common manufacturing risks.

For example, if you send a factory your custom auto-part design, an NNN agreement helps prevent the factory from:
• Sharing the design with another company.
• Producing and selling the same product under its own brand.
• Contacting your customers directly and cutting you out.

If you’re importing auto parts or other products from China, an NNN agreement is usually signed before you share detailed product specifications, drawings, molds, or supplier contacts.

Many businesses also combine an NNN agreement with:
• A manufacturing contract.
• Product quality specifications.
• Trademark registration.
• Intellectual property protection where applicable.
