Kente cloth is the traditional cloth of Ghana 🇬🇭, but it’s also worn in countries like Côte d’Ivoire 🇨🇮 and Togo 🇹🇬 across West Africa.

It’s made of hand-woven strips of silk and cotton. Historically, Kente was worn in a toga-like fashion by royalty among the Ewe and Akan people.

According to Ashanti oral tradition, it originated from Bonwire in the Ashanti region of Ghana.
