🏛️🌿 Πώς η Πότνια Θηρών εναρμονίζεται με τη φύση;

🏺 Το Έκθεμα του Μήνα Ιουνίου παρουσιάζει τον βοιωτικό πιθαμφορέα (680-670 π.Χ.) με παράσταση της μεγάλης θεάς της φύσης, Πότνιας Θηρών. Αναζητήστε το στην αίθουσα 49 του ΕΑΜ.
Η δέσποινα των άγριων ζώων πλέκεται και "πλέκει" την αψεγάδιαστη αρμονία της φύσης ανάμεσα στις έντονες μορφές των λιονταριών τα οποία την πλαισιώνουν. Η συμπερίληψη ζώων της γης, του νερού και των αιθέρων στην ίδια εικόνα πιθανόν υπογραμμίζει τον παντοδύναμο χαρακτήρα της θεότητας.
Παρατηρήστε ένα μεγάλο ψάρι, ένα διαμελισμένο βόδι, πτηνά και ίσως φίδια μαζί με ποικίλα γεωμετρικά μοτίβα.

Το αγγείο βρέθηκε το 1890 σε τάφο της Θήβας μαζί με χάλκινα αντικείμενα, βραχιόλια,πόρπες και ένα διάδημα.

🏛️🌿 How the Mistress of the Animals is harmonized with nature?
The revered goddess of nature
🏺 The Exhibit of the Month for this June presents the Boeotian pithos - amphora (680-670 BC) with a representation of the great goddess of nature, the so called Potnia or Mistress of the Animals. You can look for it in Gallery 49 of the HNAM.
The Lady of wild animals is weaved and "weaves" with the flawless harmony of nature through the vivid forms of the lions that surround her. The inclusion of animals, earth, water and an ethereal essense in the same image probably underscores the mighty character of the deity.
Take a closer look at a large fish, a dismembered ox, birds and perhaps snakes along with a variety of geometric motifs that adorn the scene of the vase.
🔎 Extra Tip:
The vase was found in 1890 in a tomb at Thebes alongside bronze objects, bracelets, buckles and a diadem.
