🧵From a very young age, Manes and Anna grew up with the loom as part of their childhood memories. They remember seeing people in their families, and friends of their grandmothers, using the loom in their homes — weaving by hand, creating, and keeping a beautiful tradition alive.
For Manes, those memories were shaped by his summer visits to his grandmother and grandfather, where he would see this tradition woven into the rhythm of family life. For Anna, the loom was also a familiar presence, surrounded by family and stories passed down through generations.
Those images became part of their childhood. Years later, they wanted to bring that memory into the present. To take something they had grown up seeing and give it a new meaning, a new purpose, and a place in today’s world.
🧶This is how the idea for the loom collection at Elolathikes was born.
💁♂️They sought out people who still carry the knowledge and craftsmanship of this tradition, and together they began designing pieces inspired by those childhood memories — pieces that honour where we come from while being made for the way we live today.
