Do not love the world Bible Verse, Scripture Verses & Scripture Quotes: Do not love the world or anything in the world.
Do not love the world Bible Verse, Scripture Verses & Scripture Quotes: Do not love the world or anything in the world.
Key Bible Verse:
1 John 2:15, NIV Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.

Hold on. Jesus says LOVE IS NOT OPTIONAL.

So what does John mean when he says “Do not love the world?”

Please read the following scriptures to understand the full message:
1 John 2:15-17, NLT Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.

Romans 12:2, NLT Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

1 Timothy 6:17-19, NLT Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.

Luke 12:34, ESV For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Matthew 6:33-34, NIV But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

2 Corinthians 5:17, NIV Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

1 Peter 2:2-3, NIV Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

Hebrews 12:2, BSB Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

If the Holy Spirit is living within us, the natural outpouring of behaviors will be “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control” (Galatians 5:22-23). By treating others with love and respect, it shows the world a glimpse of God's character.
