Colombian emeralds this colour are among the most sought after in the world, and this one has the documentation to match.

This 6.79-carat Colombian emerald has rich green saturation, strong brilliance and excellent transparency, with the dark green hue balanced by bright green lustre.

It is AGL certified with minor oil and is likely to have originated from the legendary Muzo region of Colombia.

GREEN DIAMONDS 💎

Natural fancy green is one of the rarest diamond colours.

The colour develops when a diamond is exposed to natural radiation in the earth over an immense period of time. This radiation alters the diamond’s crystal structure, producing its green colour.

The difficulty is proving that the colour occurred naturally. Diamonds can also be artificially irradiated to produce green, which is why a GIA report is particularly important.

On the report, look under “Color Origin.” For a naturally coloured green diamond, you want to see: Natural.

For serious coloured diamonds, that single word matters enormously.

A 108.04 carat carved natural emerald.

GRS certified and originating from the Ural region of Russia, this pastel green emerald shows minor to moderate oil treatment. The carved stone is set in 18K yellow gold with 6.50 carats of natural diamonds and 3 carats of cabochon blue sapphires. (ASSAY⁠)

The complete necklace weighs 165.28 grams, with a substantial textured gold construction and crown motif.

Ruby or pink sapphire?

This 3.8 carat unheated stone sits right on one of the most interesting colour boundaries in gemstones.

Ruby and sapphire are actually the same mineral: corundum. The difference is colour. Ruby is classified by its dominant red colour, while corundum that falls more clearly on the pink side is generally classified as pink sapphire.

This stone has a pinkish-red tone, but red is dominant, making it a ruby.

So, what do you see first: ruby or pink sapphire?

13.89 carat natural chrysoberyl cat’s eye, certified by GRS

Cut as a cabochon, the stone shows a strong band of chatoyancy, the optical effect that gives cat’s eye chrysoberyl its name. It is set in 18K yellow gold with 56 round diamonds totalling 0.71 carats.
