What an incredible three days at 𝗖𝗔𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗫 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘇𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.
We loved meeting coffee professionals, home brewers, creators, and coffee lovers from across the industry—sharing ideas, comparing brews, and exploring how better grinding leads to better coffee.

From live demonstrations of the 𝗗𝟵+ 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘅 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿, to espresso brewing with the 𝟱𝟴 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, and silky milk foam from the 𝗶𝗙𝗼𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿, our booth was filled with conversations, curiosity, and countless great cups.

Every tasting tells a different story. ☕

Our latest STARESSO D9+ Flavor Matrix Tasting Event took place at 샌드스톤커피랩 ㅣ 원두납품(DM문의) in Korea, where coffee professionals and enthusiasts explored how burr geometry influences flavor.

Participants compared coffees ground with all three D9+ burrs through blind cupping, experienced the grinder firsthand, and evaluated the differences in aroma, sweetness, clarity, body, and overall balance.

To take the exploration one step further, the audience also joined a side-by-side brewing session comparing the D9+ with a commercial grinder using a Chemex—demonstrating how particle distribution can shape the final cup.

What made this event even more exciting was that every seminar brings new coffees, new perspectives, and new discussions. While the format remains the same, the discoveries are always different.

Our Guangzhou stop of the 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗢 𝟭𝟬𝗞 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘅 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 brought together coffee lovers at 𝗖𝗔𝗙𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗢 for an afternoon of curiosity, conversation, and discovery.

From the sensory challenge of "𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗹 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿", to comparing three burr geometries through cupping, and finally brewing three cups side by side, everyone experienced firsthand how different 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗿 𝗴𝗲𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 can shape flavor in the cup.

No complicated explanations—just tasting, comparing, and letting the coffee speak for itself.

Using the 𝗦𝗣𝟯𝟬𝟬 𝗣𝗟𝗨𝗦, this recipe combines a coarser grind with a unique pressing rhythm to create a cup that's surprisingly sweet, round, and juicy.

𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗲:
• 18g coffee
• Grind 3× coarser than espresso
• 120ml water at 90°C (194°F)
• Press steadily to 20g
• Press faster to 50g
• Finish at a medium pace
• Bypass to ~270g

The result? A clean, full-bodied cup with a smooth, juicy finish.

We just wrapped up our latest flavor tasting with 𝗗𝗢𝗨𝗪𝗨 𝗖𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗘𝗘 in Shenzhen — and what an incredible deep dive it was!

We kicked off with professional cupping sessions, sharpening our senses to pick up the subtle notes hidden in every brew. Then, we explored how the grind reshapes flavor, testing different profiles with the 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗢 𝗗𝟵+ Grinder and unlocking totally new expressions from the same bean.

Moments like these remind us: coffee flavor isn’t just about the bean — it’s all in the details, especially the grind.

Perfect flavor starts with precise sensory training & grinding.

We teamed up with 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗜𝗡 𝗖𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗘𝗘 for an in-depth coffee flavor tasting session.

We kicked off with professional Devil Water palate training to sharpen everyone’s sensory sensitivity. Followed by hands-on cupping and brewing tests with the 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗢 𝗗𝟵+ 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿, exploring completely different flavor expressions from a single bean via 3 interchangeable burrs.

Flavor Matrix Tasting Event — Round 3 ☕
This time, STARESSO partnered with PROMAX for another deep dive into coffee flavor exploration, led by CQI Certified Q Arabica & Q Robusta Grader Anna.

From “Devil Water” sensory training to cupping and brewing with the D9+, we explored how different burrs can shape completely different flavor experiences in the cup.

Through deeper conversations with local coffee lovers, we hope to make coffee tasting more approachable — and help more people discover the charm of coffee through the D9+.
