Lobmeyr Hong Kong

Lobmeyr Hong Kong Lobmeyr is in its 6th generation as a family business today. A love of material, emotional relations What’s more?

Lobmeyr began in 1823 when Josef Lobmeyr, a native Austrian born in a glazier family, first opened a small glassware shop in Weihburggasse, Vienna. Now in its sixth generation, the firm’s success lies not only in a genuine love of glass but also their passion to constantly push for its contemporary interpretation. The input of invited designers has always formed a big part of Lobmeyr’s development

, starting from the collaboration with well-known architects Joseph Hoffmann and Adolf Loos in the early 20th century to jewelry designer Ted Muehling today. All of them are able to understand the spirit of Lobmeyr and fulfill the needs for those who seek the finest quality and craftsmanship. You can find Lobmeyr design all over the world including MoMA in New York, Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MAK in Vienna. Exclusive star restaurateurs also swear by the magic of Lobmeyr glassware, including classic master Alain Ducasse, Thomas Keller of The French Laundry or Catalan avant-garde chef Ferran Adrià, both awarded the maximum three stars by the Michelin Guide. They cherish the exceptional shapes and the restaurant culture there is at a very high level overall. Things are served from many different kinds of shapes, which are consciously chosen to match the food, drink, and guest.

A wonderful night brings people together!!

Great support from Edward, head chef Hoshi San and his culinary team of Sukiyaki Isekuma 壽喜燒 伊勢熊 presented the authentic taste of Kanto-style sukiyaki menu. The traditional Japanese “Warayaki” cooking technique of Kochi Prefecture amazed us the most during the meal. The burning rice straw to intensely sear the wagyu beef and enhance the aromatic campfire smokiness of the meat. That’s so great!!

Thanks to Todd of Rapture Fine Wines selected the elegant wine to complement what’s on our plate. The burgundy wine harmonizes smoothly with the sweet soy broth and premium Wagyu beef coming from Kumamoto. We had an incredible wine flight starting with Blanc de Blancs Champagne, premium Bourgogne Blanc, refined Bourgogne Rouge and ending with luscious Sauternes sweet wine.

Historical Inspiration - Alhambra

In this historical drawing, you will see the original concept, colour details and decoration of the series designed by Franz Schmoranz and Moritz Knab in 1888. It is one of the most beautiful Lobmeyr series from the 19th century. The inspiration comes from abstract animal drawings of the famous “Jarra” vase at Alhambra palace in Granada. The enamel painted friezes with animals in particular seem to be of timeless beauty and Leonid Rath has modelled it into a series of 6 tumblers with Arabian originals in 2020. The 6 wildlife-inspired tumblers are Doe and Deer, Giraffes, Cranes, Horses, Swans and Ostriches.

CALABASH VASES, designed by 2016

The calabash gourd has been used as a vessel for ages, its extraordinary shape inspired porcelain vases in Baroque and ancient Chinese times.

Lotus flowers, deeply connected to Asian and Buddhist culture. Serene bouquet of fresh cut lotus flower buds and seed pods in a calabash vase, beautiful symbol of purity, spirituality and peace.

They appeal as a group, but also as a single piece. The vases are available in subtle colours amethyst, rosalin and black.

Drinking set no.4, designed by: Ludwig Lobmeyr in 1856

This round base with stopper features a classic and bulbous shape that narrows at the neck, ideal for decanting. The beaded border engraving on glassware is a decorative technique that creates a series of small sunken dots that resemble a string of pearls to create a delicate and elegant design.

This drinking set belongs to a body of about one hundred sets designed by Ludwig Lobmeyr himself. The clear shape and fine appearance make it a true classic. In its simplicity and functionality, the series is designated as the origin of the modern wine glass in museum collections and publications.
