巴勒斯坦人與以色列猶太人今日同居一地，卻分屬兩個截然不同的群體，各自宣稱對同一片土地具所有權。

我們該如何理解上帝關乎這片土地的應許？上帝是否僅將此地單單應許了給猶太民族？巴勒斯坦人是否有權在此生活，抑或上帝想要他們離開？

《基督之地》對「上帝將這片土地賜予以色列」的說法作出深究。作者祈約翰（Yohanna Katanacho）提出以下問題：一、以色列地之疆界是？二、以色列指涉的是甚麼？三、上帝如何將地賜予以色列？

透過仔細地查考《聖經》，本書回應了以上問題，又指出許多口號與主張的膚淺之處。更重要的是，作者提出了實在合乎基督信仰，切實地忠於《聖經》的土地神學。

本書中的土地神學與以巴問題息息相關，而祈約翰就藉著深入剖析《巴勒斯坦契機文件》（Kairos Palestine Document）去闡述兩者之間的關係。

最後，就在看似無望之際，作者並未止於絕望。他透過夏甲的故事，為兩族人尋找盼望，從難民視角詮釋可拉後裔的詩篇記載。

〈作者簡介〉

傑出舊約教授、靈風學者、現職拿撒勒福音學院教務長的祈約翰牧師博士，亦是處境神學的頂尖學者之一。他的卓越領導與研究成就，曾獲國際學者領袖（Scholar Leaders International）認同，推選成為年度代表。

祈牧師撰寫了多本著作，除了獲《今日基督教》推薦給全球教會的《巴勒斯坦人讀約翰福音》（Reading the Gospel of John through Palestinian Eyes）外，他亦著有《藉詩篇禱告》（Praying Through the Psalms）及《解鎖舊約》（Unlocking the Old Testament）。
