After months of preparation, the 1/72 decal for the Airfix Wessex has finally arrived. It is not only consisted of most, if not all, aircraft registration numbers / Call signs that stationed in Hong Kong, but also make some corrections and improvement to the kit decal.
We are also preparing a special gift to go with this sheet of decal for our royal supporters, and once ready, they will be put on the market.

This photo showing clear how the 28 Sqn logo on the Right Hand Side (starborad side) tail, which should be facing the front, not to the rear.
This is even the same XR500/A as the Airfix one!

Please also noted that XR500/A was crashed in Mirs Bay during a winching exercise on 19 April 1979.

We only have limited stock of this decal, and with the coming release of the Airfix Saracen Mk 5, we may have to stock more?

If you are building the new Airfix 1/72 Wessex with 28 Sqn marking, please be aware of a few thing. You will notice there are three 'A' , decal number (79), two on the fuselage and one in front of the cockpit, below the windscreen, checking the reference, the one in front should be slightly smaller, so not the same side as the fuselage.
Secondly, and more importantly, there are a pair of (69) the squadron badge, and they are the same??. The Pegasus should be facing the front on both side, so only the Starboard (LHS) side is correct!
What should we do? Well, either ignore the mistakes, or you can watch this space as we are preparing a new decal, not only to correct those mistakes, but will including all the different registration numbers that you seen in Hong Kong, both high and low visibility as well as the special 75th Anniversary markings too.
