自發佈結束營業以來，受到各方的熱烈愛戴和回響，令書得起再次感受到香港人對閱讀的興趣仍然是非常熱誠，在此對再次光臨的各位讀者朋友們表達衷心感謝！

今日是書得起最後一天營業日啦，書得起祝福香港所有設計師，能夠將本地設計再顯光芒，發揮無窮無盡的創作力，延續輸得起打不死的精神！

Dear Readers,
Since Basheer HK has announced it’s closing, we have received passionate and heart-felt replies and has made us realize the HK people still have a strong passion for reading. We want to convey again our thankfulness to all of our loyal customers and friends.

Today is the last day of our operation for Basheer HK. We wish all designers the best of luck and success in your careers, continue to always think creatively, have no fear of failure; stay perseverant!!

親愛的讀者,
書得起自2002年12月18日開業，不經不覺已經十四個年頭了，曾經是無數設計師打書釘及啟發靈感的聚腳地，隨著時代的進步變化，讀者們也漸漸改變了對閱讀和購買的方式習慣…因此書得起都要順應時代的步伐，今天作出了一個沉重的決定。
好多謝一路支持我們的讀者，書得起同樣會以開業日期12月18日作為最後一天的營業日。希望能夠再次見到大家!! 謝謝!!

Basheer Design Books HK opened in 18 December 2002 and 14 years have already quickly passed. Basheer Design Books HK was a popular inspire gathering place for designers from all walks of life. Recently things have changed. Consumer’s reading and books buying habits have changed significantly.
After much thought and consideration Basheer Design Books HK had decided to finally close our doors for the last. We would like to thank our loyal and supportive consumers. We could not have made it this far without you. Basheer Design Books HK will officially close on 19December 2016. Hope to see you before then. Thanks!

Ghosts, demons, Yokai... This is the nightmarish collection of supernatural beings from Japanese folklore as portrayed in Ukiyo-e masterpieces!

Japanese folklore is a goldmine of terrifying supernatural Yokai monsters, demons, phantoms. A large number of Ukiyo-e woodblock printings created in Edo period (1603-1868) depict these monstrous beings in the illustrations of popular folk tales and horror stories.

This book contains 70 Yurei (ghosts), Oni (demons), Kaijin (sorcerers) and Yokai (supernatural monsters) with a basic introduction to each creature’s story in J/E bilingual text. These phantoms and monsters are described vividly in 120 Ukiyo-e art pieces, all created by great masters such as Hokusai, Hiroshige, Kuniyoshi and so on, giving readers a clear and terrifying image of what such supernatural figures might look like. These images have been passed down through the years, and many art genres in Japan today, including manga and games, are heavily influenced by them.
