A great companion for ATEM users!

Today we released public beta 3 of Fairlight Live which adds improvements and bug fixes including a new fader flip option which lets faders map to aux, matrix and mix minus send levels, new auto mixing for automatic ducking of talent, support for OSC and more.

The new fader flip lets you map send levels for various busses such as aux, matrix and mix minus to faders so you can adjust sends using the faders and then flip the faders back to channel volume control. There is also a new player/recorder control row in the mixer interface saving set up time as it means you can arm channels for record or playback directly in the mixer rather than going to the channel control. This also gives you quick visual confirmation of channel states without having to open the channel controls.

There is also a new auto mixer feature which automatically ducks talent on up to 8 channels. When you are working on a live event such as a panel discussion, you can now assign each panel member to a channel. When a panel member is speaking, the other channels automatically duck around the speaker so that their audio is clear. There are additional controls such as weighting the hosts channel to be dominant over other panel members if both are speaking at once, as well as the ability to pull down all channels in a single click.

Support has been added for OSC which lets you control levels for personal monitoring, metering, AFV integration and talkback remotely. Plus there’s support for 3rd party apps such as Mixing Station for remote mixing control via tablets and BitFocus Companion for automating live mixing control. Configuration support can be found on the Blackmagic Forum.

This update also adds support for ATEM audio channels to be presented as clusters so you can patch multi-channels with a single patch point. Additionally there is improved support for running multiple audio peripherals on Mac computers so you can link an ATEM switcher with 3rd party audio interfaces. Support for Apple MacBook built-in microphones has also been added.

Workflow improvements include improved UI for the new show dialog, as well as a new channels dialog so you can add multiple channels simultaneously, including color coding and naming. Additionally you can copy and paste from the edit menu, and duplicate a channel next to the currently selected channel, retaining the same format.

The cue player now remembers the last location a media file was loaded from, making it faster to load multiple sounds at once, plus support has been added for MP3 files. There are also general stability and performance improvements for the native StageVerb plug-in and the patching matrix.

Today we announced Blackmagic Camera 10.2 update which adds support for phase detect autofocus to Blackmagic PYXIS 6K. This makes it easy to keep your subjects in focus, even as they move, with options added for continuous autofocus, object tracking or face tracking modes.

This update also adds support for Blackmagic Cloud stream routing with PYXIS 6K. This lets you route a live stream from the camera directly into your studio, or stream to multiple platforms at the same time using Blackmagic Cloud.

Today we released public beta 4 of DaVinci Resolve 21 which adds improvements and bug fixes for Resolve effects on still images, AI CineFocus visual quality, AI beauty tools, keyframe editor workflows and immersive video support.

For the photo page, Resolve FX now behave more reliably when transforming still images. If you resize or reposition a photo with an effect applied, overlays and on screen controls now remain correctly aligned, making it easier to fine tune adjustments without interruption. The update also improves transparency handling for effects on stills, remembers effect favorites between app launches and fixes warper tool behavior on photos so you can more accurately reshape and manipulate images.

There is also more accurate highlight representation for Canon CR2 and CR3 images. This means bright areas in photos retain a more natural appearance and no longer look darker than expected when grading or compositing.

On the Edit and Cut pages, the keyframe editor now supports Fusion motion paths and other modifiers. This allows animation curves, motion paths and linked parameters from Fusion titles, effects and macros to be adjusted directly alongside timeline keyframes. This means editors can now adjust animated graphics and Fusion effects directly in the keyframe editor, making complex animations faster and easier to refine.

For DaVinci Resolve Studio users, AI CineFocus has been improved to produce more realistic shallow depth of field effects. Better and Faster modes now handle subtle blur more cleanly, while reductions in edge shimmer, stair stepping and halos help foreground subjects separate more naturally from backgrounds. This is especially useful when simulating lens focus effects on interviews, close ups or archival footage.

AI beauty tools have also been refined with the blemish removal tool allowing greater precision for facial area so corrections stay focused only where needed, and better support for alpha layer workflows with the face refinement tool. This makes it easier to isolate and track facial adjustments automatically, reducing the need for manual masking when working on beauty, fashion or interview shots.

In addition, this update adds support for Insta360 native colorspace along with improved DNG decode handling with color value and profile look table support for more consistent image reproduction.
