At Isola, we celebrate differences, rather than moving forward just for consistency's sake. From subtle differences in products created by hand to the artisans and their unique approach on making them - we draw no lines. A beginner or an established maker, we really don't care - if the work resonates, we want it. And that's what keeps us going - the pursuit for beautiful, imperfect objects, made with that human stamp on it.
So when we reached out to Igor from , an artisan with over 20 years of experience in making pottery, it was intentional. Igor is the most sought-after master potter in Croatia, best known for making plates for Michelin star restaurants. Despite the demand, Igor still works alone out of his home studio in Sveta Nedelja, immersed in the process and the beauty of working with his own two hands. We worked together and created a small line of cups, plates and bowls, welcoming all the nuances from one piece to another. Each item is made using stoneware clay, on a pottery wheel, no moulds, entirely by hand. Available at Isola exclusively.
